My eyes widened.
Why did Mr. Pervert have to be the birthday boy? I mean, when I saw the guy, I thought some type of friend or family member of the 19 year old.
I sighed to myself. I shook my head and reminded myself that if I say anything, I would be putting my family's name at risk. I calmed myself down and pretended nothing was wrong. Instead, I listened to their speeches. "When I look around this table, I see people who I deeply care for. Friends and family who come to celebrate the mere birth of my brother and I. We are truly grateful for you all taking the time out of your schedules to come tonight. So I raise my glass as a toast to friends and family. Once again, thank you all." They clapped for her and her father seemed to be so proud of her. Now it was the boy's turn.
He didn't smile. "Like my dear sister said, I am also grateful that you came tonight. But birthdays aren't just about the parties. What if my family never enough had the money to afford all of this? Well, even if we were living in a dirty shack, I would still have my family and that's all that counts." The others stared in awe. I stood up and clapped. "Well said, young lord." I complimented. He nodded his head as a thank you and every also began to clap along with me. There was cake a laughter and I manged to spot the girl and Adam leave together. I chuckled to myself. I went to the ballroom and the orchestra was playing Moon River, one of my favorite pieces. Mr. Pervert had given me his hand. "Would you care for a dance?" I wanted to refuse but there people watching. "Go on." My mother encouraged. I sighed deeply. "Of course, my lord." We took the dance floor and before I knew it, almost everyone had their eyes on me.
"So who are you anyways?" I asked. "The birthday boy. And you?" I rolled my eyes. "A guest. Do you always try to have a sexual we relationship with every girl you meet?" He shook his head. "No, I'm drunk so you'll have to excuse me on that one." I shook my head. "Deary, someone must have given you some Caprison juice and told you it was alcohol." I wasn't going to fall for it. "So you see right through my lies then? Interesting...." I sighed. "Tell me your real name." He hesitated at first but then he gave up. "Fine but then you will have to explain why you brought a blade to a birthday party." I shrugged. I figured I was going to see him around more so I might as well confess now before things get complicated. "Deal." I said. "My name is Sebastian. I'm guessing you don't know my sister's name either. Her name is Diana." I nodded.
"My name is Jamie. I guess I owe you an explanation, don't I?" He didn't say anything but his eyes said that he wasn't a patient man. I gave him a simplification of my past and the incident. "Ah, so you're the girl they were talking about on the news that day." He said aloud. "Sherlock Holmes, You have done it again." I said scornfully. "Again with the rude remarks? You'll never get a husband that way." I squinted at him. "Sucking on woman's neck isn't exactly considered polite either." He pulled me closer. "But a dirty woman like you obviously enjoyed it?" I went quiet for a moment. "I won't lie. I did, but you should have at least waited till we have gotten to know each other?" I teased.
His cheeks turned a slight shade of red. "Y....you are a dangerous woman, you know that?" I bowed my head. "Thank you, young lord." He examined me a bit more. "Is the red eye also caused by the accident?" he asked, changing the subject. My eyes widened. I completely forgotten to put on my sunglasses! "......When this dance is over, you need to come with me." To my prayers, the song had ended and we bowed as a pretend thank you. I grabbed his hand and ran upstairs to the fourth level. We went to the balcony and saw Diana and Adam kiss right there on the spot.
Sebastian was about to yell but I covered his mouth until it was over. When they finished, I ran to Adam and gave him an big hug. Then I went to Diana and hugged her. "You finally did it, Adam!" I pinched his cheeks. "Adam, who is this?" She asked, confused. "Oh, I'm sorry! I'm Jamie, Adam's sister. By the way, do you have any sunglasses I can borrow?" Sebastian came out of the dark corner and grabbed my had. "You have a lot of explaining to do."
