“What do you think about this Ninety-One?” Mad questioned, gesturing his head towards the Verses.
“Doesn’t feel too real Mad,” I admitted, “After this, we’ll be ushered into society and try to become decent Verses. Not looking forward to it.”
“Neither am I Ninety-One. But instead of looking that far into it, you should look at what we’re going to do after this day! Alice wants to head to River Head Mansion again.”
I rolled my eyes, “Again?” and Mad nodded his head real slow.
“She’s obsessed with the history.” He told.
“She’s old,” I scoffed. “Like one of those Dollies!”
He burst out laughing.
“Ding ding ding.” A sudden bell chimed. Verses who didn’t belong filtered out and those who belonged stayed, sitting with their friends that they knew or had just met. The door opened and a man with a golden septic eye who wore a dark rob strolled in holding a large brown book that had colorful tabs sticking out of it.
"Hello, Children!” He greeted, “Welcome to the first day of The Last!” He raised his arms in the air. “May I extend my congratulations to you all who have made it into the Diamond Class. Now, let’s make sure we’re in the right spots, shall we? This is Room 352 Introductory to Magic! If you aren’t in the right class you may leave.” He stopped talking and waited for someone to leave.
When no one left he smiled, “Perfect! You all got it right! Gold stars for you.” Large stars appeared in a flash beside him and spun, flinging off glitter and gold and then vanished. “Now then, my name is Keith Unknown and I will be your professor into magic. Before we dive into what this class will contain, let’s do Call shall we?” He let go of the large book and it floated in the air, “Everyone stand up.”
We did as we were told.
He started to call off names and as he did, their seats faded away and the room began to change into a type of jungle scene. The walls transformed into cobblestone and trees appeared, surrounding our class.
“Alice Monte Castino Chateau!” He beckoned and Alice’s seat faded from underneath her. Mad quickly caught her by the wrist and she finally woke up.
“This is different.” Alice yawned as she fixed her dress.
Mad strolled back to his place, “I know. It’s not awkward like the first class of The Center.”
“With the vines?” Alice wondered.
“Yeah.” Mad nodded his head.
“Madly Arlendo Untiago Denear.” Professor Unknown called upon Mad and his seat vanished.
“Wait...what?” I turned around to look at them, wanting to know what the hell they were talking about.
I remember my first day was boring. I had one of those strict Horridian bastards who started the class off by giving out personal quizzes and assignments so that we know what our learning strengths were and how we communicated with others.
I scoffed in his face and threw the paper down because I thought it didn’t matter what our learning strengths were when it came to meeting other people. What mattered is that if we’re learning or not. He kicked me out of his class and I was wondering the halls, avoiding the Faculty. I think that’s when I saw him. Jund. He was playing around in one of the empty alchemy classes, breaking glass as he did.
“Ninety-One?” I heard Professor Unknown question.
