Rico's POV
I sat up, panting and clutching my chest. It was dark outside and I was in a foreign room, from the pale moonlight coming in from the window I could see that I was naked.
So was the woman next to me.
Letting myself fall back into- what I assume to be- her bed, I forgot about the nightmare and focused my attention on her. Well, her and what we did a few hours ago. My finger drew lazy circles on her shoulder as I wondered on the subject of her.
I wasn't drunk when I came home with her but I doubt that she wasn't. The fire in her eyes while she straddled me, black bra barely holding back her assets and hair in wild curls came to mind and I let out a groan. My lips replaced my finger as I worked my way up to her neck, she stirred in her sleep, one eye peeking open after the other. They looked almost hickory in the light, just a fleck or two of black invaded the pure color.
"What are you doing," she murmured," Haven't you had your share?"
"I'm greedy," I whispered in her ear before nibbling on the tip of it. She seemed to notice that her arm was across my waist and her leg was between mine because she sat up and pulled away, sheets held tight to her chest.
"Before any of that, I think I deserve to know your name."
"Isn't that something you should have asked for a while ago, Princesita?"
"I'm asking for it now, aren't I?"
I felt the smirk, maybe I should keep her as a lover?
"The name is Rico."
"Well, Rico, is there a last name to go with that?"
"Of course, and I'll give it to you as soon as you give me your first name. Or shall we stick to Princesita?"
"My name is Alyssa."
"Hernandez. My name is Rico Hernandez, Alyssa."
Her breath hitched for a split second. What could she be worried about when it was her that just lied a few seconds ago?
Mary's POV
Hernandez? As in the Dragons Hernandez? I slept with a god damned Dragon? I opened my mouth to tell him to get the hell out before I realized that this could be good.
This could be very good.
Lesson 2: Never pass up the perfect opportunity.
"Give me a minute, Mr. Hernandez," I told her as I slipped out of the bed, the scruffy looking Latino boy now staring up at me while I pulled a robe out of the closet and pulled it on," I'll go get us some 'provisions' then we can continue."
I swear to you he growled as I walked out of the room and down the hall, once in the kitchen I called Quinton.
"Hello? Mary," he asked in a groggy tone. I glanced at a clock near me. 10:27. Why is he still asleep? I rolled my eyes.
"It's me. We have a problem."
"What kind of problem," he said quickly, immediately awake. I heard the rustling of sheets on the other end.
"The kind where that guy I was talking to last night is none other than Rico Hernandez."
"You were drinking with a Dragon?"
"Correction," I looked around to see if there happened to be a worker around me," I slept with a dragon."
"You did what," he exclaimed. Someone on the other end said something and he told her to go back to sleep," Why would you do that?"
"It was a one night stand. I didn't think the name was necessary until this morning when I found it out."
"This is bad, Mary. You need to get out of there before he finds out who you are."
"I can't get out of here. It's my house. Listen, I need you to get here now. I have a plan."
"What plan? What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about the final leg of my revenge."
The door was slightly ajar when I went back to the room Rico was in. I was just thankful I had taken him to a guest room last night instead of my own. I had gone to my own room and changed into a pair of leather pants and a plain blue tank top with a leather jacket over it. My high heeled boots clicked on the wooden floor as I pushed the door the rest of the way open with my shoulder and brought him eggs, sausage and toast with orange juice.
"I brought you breakfast."
"You also got dressed."
"Had to," I checked the clock on the wall. 10:42. Turning back to him I saw that he had sat up, only a bit of the plain white sheets were covering him as he looked directly at me," I have to do some work but you can stay here until you've found your clothes and had breakfast."
"This isn't the breakfast I want, Princesita."
The doorbell went off and I shrugged at him," The breakfast you want has to go talk to her business associate. So stay here and be a good boy."
He raised an eyebrow at me and I made my way out of the room and out to the patio where Quinton was waiting for me. Greta, my cook, came out to give me a cup of coffee. I sipped it and gave Quinton a once over. He was in a pair of jeans and a white tee with long sleeves to cover his tattoos, a pair of sunglasses rested on top of his head and he was wearing a belt with one of those long key holder things hanging out of his left pocket.
"Wow, very fatherly-chic."
"It's Saturday."
I nodded, remembering that Rose had soccer practice every Saturday at 11. He always takes her and also takes her friend Jamie every other week because of her parent's custody settlement. It's that Saturday so he had to cover up or else Jamie's mom would never have let him take her.
"Did you make it? You were sleeping pretty late today."
He scratched the side of his head and looked to the side. I let out an excited breath and slapped his arm.
"Mira and I were had gone out for a walk last night and ended up at my place. She's really cool."
"As much as I'd love to grill you about your new found love interest, we have a Mexican boy in the guest room who happens to be the bastard son of my worst enemy."
"Rico is a bastard?"
"Yeah, it's a little known secret of the mob world. Homero Hernandez, had an affair with some girl and she had a kid. She died a few years later and Rico was taken into Homero's care. It's the reason that his younger son is the inheritor to his empire."
"I thought that Rico just had some sort of mental disease that kept him from being able to take it himself."
"That's what Homero tells everyone as a cover up."
"So what's this plan you have? How does it help with getting revenge for your parent's deaths?"
"Rico is Homero's son so he's also Eduardo's brother. Eduardo is constantly under lock and key but according to my informants, he sneaks out sometimes with his big brother. If we can find Eduardo then we can get revenge on Homero and the Dragons."
"If you mean what I think you mean than this could very well be the most dangerous thing you have ever thought of so I want you to answer me very carefully when I ask what exactly are you suggesting, Mary?"
I stepped closer to my friend and looked him dead in the eyes. If I was about to say this out loud then I couldn't leave any doubt with Quinton. He's the one I need backing me up on this. If I'm going to do this then I'm doing it with him and if he's not behind me then I'll fail for sure.
"I'm suggesting that we kidnap the Hernandez brothers and hold them for ransom to get Homero at my doorstep."
"Then?"
"Then we kill them all and dance on their graves."
