They were in Michael's car, Crimson looking out the window. Michael seemed nervous, Crimson seemed confident. It took a lot to take her confidence away.

"I know this great ice-cream shop where you can put your own toppings on," Michael suggested. "Would that be alright if we went there?"

Crimson smiled at his nervousness. "I would love that, Michael. Where's it at?"

"Near the Town Square," Michael said, the nervous tinge escaping his voice since she agreed that it'd be a good place to go. "It's actually in between the town library and the clothes shop that just opened up."

"Oh, me and Savannah we're going to check that shop out sometime. Evidently they have some great stuff," Crimson explained, looking away from the scenery to Michael.

"If you wanted to go there with Savannah, we can go-"

"No, no," Crimson assured. "I want to go there with you, Michael. Savannah and I weren't even sure when we were going to check it out. We would've gone yesterday, but Sage came back and we all caught up. Anyways, I'm sure you probably don't wanna go shopping with me."

Michael laughed, his grip loosening on the steering.

Crimson grimaced, saying, "Savannah says I'm a nightmare, and Sage says I complain too much."

"That's not a good combination," Michael laughed.

"No," Crimson agreed. "It's not a good combination to have while shopping with brutally honest friends."

They pulled up in front of the ice-cream shop, a quaint little thing squished between two buildings. A small patio was out front with flowers blooming all around.

Her eyes lit up at the sight of the small shop, excitement growing within her. A smile broke out on her face as she said, "This place is so adorable!"

Michael smiled at her excitement, and they both exited his car. "I'm glad you like it," he said as they walked up to it.

The small bell rang as they opened the door, and the inside was a modernized diner with different twists in it. It was contemporary with a nostalgic undertone, and it made the place perfect.

They walked over to the young girl working the cash register, who Crimson recognized as Delilah. She was a quiet and secretive girl, but she was nice.

"Hi, welcome to Paradise Cream, what can I get you?" Delilah asked the two.

"I'll have a small," Crimson ordered, taking out her wallet.

"Same here," Michael said, and handed Delilah the money before Crimson could.

"You didn't have to pay for mine," Crimson said as Delilah handed them his change back.

"I asked you on the date, which means that I pay," Michael insisted, smug with his actions in paying before her.

Crimson rolled her eyes and said, "So if I asked you, I pay."

Michael smirked, his confidence slowly coming back to him while he was around Crimson. "Are you implying that we're going on a second date."

"I don't know, Michael," Crimson said, taking the ice cream cup from Delilah's outstretched hand. "Are we?"

She walked away, leaving Michael to grab his ice cream cup to follow in her steps and load it with ice cream.

After they had filled their cups with what they considered enough ice cream and toppings, they both sat down in a booth with a window by them that looked out into the street.

It was an odd concept for Crimson to consider that every single person that passed this shop had their own life, problems, and people to deal with. Instead, she scooped some ice cream onto her spoon and ate her ice cream slowly. She stuck a strawberry on her spoon along with some vanilla ice cream, and she could have died over how good she thought it to be.

"What are you thinking about doing after school ends?" Michael asked suddenly, making Crimson look up in shock.

"Oh, um," Crimson stuttered, trying to think of an answer. "I don't know, I've applied to a couple schools. Didn't know when I accepted to go on this date with you that we'd talk about the future."

"If it makes you uncomfortable, we don't have to," Michael said quickly, rushing to amend what he had said earlier. He was simply curious about what she wanted to do.

"Well, if we're talking about it, what do you want to do?" Crimson inquired, taking another scoop from her ice cream.

"I think I wanna do something in the medical branch. Help people, you know?" Michael started.

Crimson smiled softly.
