Maybe the only way to get over it is to think about it. Go back from beginning to end. So that's what Lily decided to do. Go over her Junior year from beginning to end.
"Lily! If you don't get out of bed you won't have cheer after school!" Her mom yelled from downstairs. Lily rose from her bed, going down to the kitchen to eat her favorite breakfast- chocolate donuts with vanilla creme filling.
"Good to see you finally awake. Now, take a couple bites and go get ready." Said Alesa, Lily's older sister who had recently finished college and was now looking for a job.
Lily did as her older sister had told her, finishing her donut and getting into her favorite outfit. It was a shirt covered in pink dots. She wasn't sure why she loved it, she just did.
She got in the car, still awaiting the day she could get a drivers license. On the way to school, she got the common parent lecture to behave but have fun. She also got a talk from her mom about how much she hated the cheer team, and would much rather her do something academic to secure her spot at a good college.
She said goodbye to her mother, being greeted by her usual cheer friends Selena and Alexandria. The twin girls were very quiet, but when they did talk it was usually either drama or something about themselves.
You had the usual students complaining about school, club sign ups, everything like that. Sadly, as Lily walked down the hall, she saw the school's resident nerd Skyler get her math club booth knocked down.
Lily wanted to keep her image, but at the same time, she knew Skylar to be a nice girl.
"Hey, stop it! Go find trouble somewhere else." Lily said to the boys who had knocked down the booth. The two boys, wanting to spare their image of the cheerleader gossip, quickly moved down the hall, whispering some insult about her. Lily looked at the girl in front of her. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, it's not like anyone would sign up for my club anyway..." She said.
Lily looked at the two twins who were now beckoning for her to come. She looked at the girl in front of her as well. She picked up the signup sheet from the broken booth and pulled out her favorite pen.
"I'd like to disagree." She signed her name on the sheet.
The twins, both surprised and disgusted by what Lily had done, walked quickly down the hall.
"You don't have to do that." Said Skylar, watching as Lily put down the sheet in front of her.
"I think I want to." Lily smiled.
"And so do I!" Came a cheery voice from behind Skylar. It was the school's resident class clown, Antonio. He picked up the paper and a pen from his pocket, quickly signing his name.
"Antonio? You have an interest and academics?" Asked Skylar, both confused and surprised.
"I believe you should experiment with things that could be interesting. You girls and this club seem like they could be interesting. So, I'm in." Said Antonio in his usual bright and energetic voice.
"Thank you two." Said Skylar, looking at both Lily and Antonio.
"This year is going to be fun and interesting!" Shouted Antonio.
Yes Antonio, this year would be fun and interesting.
