I can feel my stomach twisting and my skin turning pale and politely respond with a 'no thank you', at which her head drops, but almost instantly comes back up again with another smile. “Oh well, it was worth a try! I just have to wait for the next customer, he he!” wow, this lady sure is something. Reminds me of a certain someone...
Speaking of the devil, “what are you talking about Julia? No one will ever like your homemade garlic ice creme, just face it!” Oliver says with a chuckle. “How can you say such depressing things! A girl can dream, you know?” They really are almost the same. Both have that overflowing optimistic view on the world somehow that isn't toppled so easily.
“You seem pretty close, do you really come here that often?” I ask a little bit wary, unsure if I really want to hear the answer, because let's be real here: A beautiful girl and a pretty boy, close, have the same cheerful personality and he comes to her shop often. The only way they aren't in a relationship is either they are related or one of them is gay.
“Not really,” Oliver answers with a shrug, “but she's my sister after all, so that could explain why we're so close,” he finishes with a smile. I knew it! “Although it doesn't really look like that, huh?” says Julia with a smile of her own. But now that she says it, they don't look alike at all! Neither their hair color nor their eye color is the same.
“Yeah, you don't exactly look like siblings,” I say deeply in thought. “You may not believe it, but we do have the same parents,” Oliver explains, “it just so happens that our mother is blonde with blue eyes while our father has black hair and brown eyes.” “So basically we're just a gender-bend of our parents,” Julia adds with a smirk while shrugging.
“But that aside...” she continues still holding up her smirk, “what about you two? Are you together? I've never seen you before,” she finishes while leaning over the counter, almost falling down. Oh great, now you got to make me blush? You're really Oliver's sister... “N-no, n-nothing like that, really! We're just friends,” I manage to stutter trying to smile.
“Ehhhh? Are you serious? But you look so cute together!” she responds a little disappointed.”J-Julia!” God damn it woman. I shoot a quick glance at Oliver who is- blushing too!? W-w-w-w-why is that?! He has absolutely no reason to! … right? Why the heck are you then?!
Upon seeing our red faces Julia lets out a laugh, sounding pleased with embarrassing us. Wow, thanks, just what I needed. “Ok, ok, no need to turn into roses guys, let a girl have some fun with her brother!” she says trying to calm us down. Oliver sighs in response and scratching the back of his head, probably still a bit embarrassed because of his sisters actions.
At least I am, oh boy.
“Now now, just forget about that little incident and tell me what ice creme you want, I don't have time all day! There are still other customers I have to serve!”
Although there is no one except us.
