“Hmm, what when he thinks you're ignoring him on purpose? Nothing hurts more than seeing two blue hooks on your message with no reply, a day after you send it to your beloved one,” Hannah says with a sigh. “Huh?” I make an annoyed sound. “Getting philosophical?” I ask teasingly. “Can't I?” she responds with a smirk.
We're currently in line, a long line, for snacks after paying for our tickets. “Urgh, I forgot how expensive cinemas were,” I groan at the 12 dollars that my purse got lighter. And I still had to pay for snacks? What a rip off.
“I know, but it's understandable,” Hannah explains while patiently waiting in line. “You got to make profit when you can AND the movie is pretty new and hyped too, so I guess no surprise here,” she finishes with a shrug. I just sigh as I continue to suffer internally.
We finally get to our seats, I'm armed with nachos, Hannah with plain, old, boring popcorn. Casual. Me being me, I totally underestimate the advertising time before the movie, so my nachos at the beginning of the movie? Non existent.
Although the theater is pretty full, the seat next to me was surprisingly empty. But I don't mind and enjoy the free space. As everything turns dark I know the actual movie begins. To sum it all up, it was a typical 08/15 romance movie, way too cliche for my taste, honestly.
The main character was nervous all the time and blushed when she just thought of that guy. A lost cause, in my opinion. Fortunately that isn't the case... for... me. Fuck. Wait are children reading this? Fuck. I probably shouldn't curse so god damn freely.
I sigh when the lights go on again, after their happy ending kiss scene and stretch myself. As I slump back into my seat and watch the credits with a bored expression, I feel my hand touching something on the armrest. Huh? A hand? I turn my head towards our touching hands. Next to me?
I slowly lift my head. There was no one before. When did a person get here? And why didn't I notice? I raise my head until I can clearly see the man's face. My eyes widen in disbelief. Color flushing to my cheeks.
Blonde hair, blue eyes, heartwarming smile? Touching my hand!? I open my mouth to speak but it only twitches at the corners. “Diana, are you coming?” I hear Hannah asking. Although I'm not looking at her I could clearly hear her gasp.
“Oliver?” she calls out. What the hell are you smiling at? I quickly withdraw my hand and I swear Oliver's smile fainted for a split second. Or maybe I just want to believe that. “Diana and... Hannah, if I'm right?” I could see Hannah looking at me. “Ohhh, so you remember Diana's name without thinking? Wow, I'm impressed! Almost like you're best friends!” she says smirking at the end. “I'm a bit jealous though,” she continues with a pout.
“A-Ah, that's because we went out together yesterday and became friends when we parted our ways, right Diana?” glancing at me, probably for validation. Wait, that's not your usual smile! And why are you blushing like that, idiot! “O-oh, yea, b-but actually, she kinda a-already... knows? he.. sorry!” I stutter with a stiff shrug, distorting my face like I would be punched in it any second now.
