“Why do I have to tell you? I just met you!” I snapped. Oh no, that sounded a little bit too harsh. But there's no turning back now! “Hmm... Because I like you!” Blunt! “You don't even know me,” I just said, avoiding his gaze. “But we can change that, don't you think?” he recommended with a wide smile.
We...
“W-well...” I began hesitantly, “I guess I can get to know you better.” He threw his arms in the air and started running in circles. “Yay!” What a weird child. Wait- I'm a child! But I sure don't act like he does. “So!” he suddenly said, making me stop thinking.
“What do you wanna do?” he asked, dazzling me with his bright eyes. I squinted mine in response and just muttered something. What's it with this kid? “What did you say?” looking at me with big eyes, I just said back, “hide and seek.”
“18...19...20! I'm coming now, hidden or not!” I wasn't hidden far, just around the tree, actually. It's trunk was pretty wide, so I could easily hide behind it. “Where aaaaaare you?” he called, hoping I would answer. I giggled silently. He had no idea that I was behind the tr- “FOUND YOU!”
I jumped up in a shriek and fell to the ground with a thud. “Ouch... What the hell?! Don't scare me like that!” suddenly his expression went from smiling to corners-of-his-mouth-dragged-downward sad. Wow. This kid.
“Ahhh, ok, ok, I'm sorry, don't cry, alright?” I said while patting him on the head. Seriously, how old is he? “sniff, ok...” he said quietly. “God, you sure are a lot of work!” I complained and took him into a hug.
“Ah!” he just got out before laughing loudly and hugging me back. And that's how we became friends. After that we saw each other every day, for one week. Why only one week? Well, you see on the last da- “Diana! We're here.”
I blink for a second before flinging my eyes open with an indistinctly sound. “What? Eh? Oliver?” I look around his car with quick glances until I look at our hands, still holding, and I just look at it with wide eyes before I look at him, at our hands, at him and our hands again before opening my mouth to just say, “ah. Right.”
And I guess this was the funniest thing he has ever seen because he just can't keep it in and starts laughing loudly. Ha. Ha. Wait... “How do you know my, like, address?” I ask curiously with a furrowed brow. “Oh yeah, after you fell asleep I took your phone and texted Hannah. Luckily you didn't have it locked, so it was pretty easy,” he explains with a chuckle.
“You... you went through my phone?” I stare blankly at him, no emotion. “Uhm, yeah, but I didn't look through your photos or anything, so don't worry!” he said with a smile. Thank... THANK GOD. IF HE WOULD HAVE SEEN ALL THESE PHOTOS I TOOK OF HIM AT THE CAFÈ. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MY END. “O-oh, thanks,” I respond, brushing my hair behind my ear and blushing a little.
“Well then, I have to get going,” I quickly say, before things would get awkward. “Ok, see you soon!” he answers with a smile. I walk to my front door and turn around to wave at him. He waves back and drives away when I open the door to go inside. I lean against it and sigh.
“And who was that boy, Diana?”
“...”
Oh god.
