Aurora and Domino were riding in the carriage still, they were mostly sleeping as night fell during their travel. Aurora was snoozing and clutching onto her bag, she would usually hang it but she always held onto it when a stranger was near, she didn't consider Domino that but she didn't consider him a companion either yet. The carriage stopped again and the carriage's door was then knocked from the outside. Aurora woke up and opened the door to see who it was, it was a guard, "Hello, ma'am. I'm going to need you to leave so we can bring in your carriage." he said in a polite voice,
"Huh?" Aurora yawned, "Oh yeah, yeah. I'll let you bring it in, just let me get my friend out." Aurora rubbed her eyes and opened them, she then carried Domino out and onto his feet and he quickly got up, "Time to go, Domino, we're going on foot now."
"What?! But it's so far!" He complained, but he still walked with Aurora anyway.
As they arrived into the actual town, they were fascinated by its technology, New Timpani had gaudy signs, huge structures, and a giant castle-like school in the middle. They strolled around and gazed through crowds to see if they can find the person they were each looking for. Domino was looking around and saw something that caught his eyes, a glowing dragonfly as big as a butterfly with petals for wings. Domino was always fascinated by insects, he started to go after it and the dragonfly flew down an alleyway. Domino followed it some more and the alleyway started to get darker, he couldn't see the dragonfly's light, he looked around some more to find it but he couldn't see anything. He walked down some more and then he saw a blue light flash in the distance, and then a green one and it kept on repeating. Domino started to walk towards it and then he saw two necklaces on the ground: the blue one had a golden dragon head holding the crystal ball in its mouth, the green one was a green crystal ball with the same dragonfly that Domino followed. He went down and picked up the dragonfly one, it seemed to felt like home, not like a wolves' den but home, he placed it around his neck and appreciated its luster. He proceeded to pick up the dragon one then and when he did, the lights suddenly came back on and he then saw a body of a boy with a bear trap on him. Domino jumped back and fell on his rear in fear, he stumbled away from the body and the pool of blood, he got the dragon pendant with him and he stuffed it in his pocket. Domino, now recollecting himself, he got up and looked over the body. He then saw that the body wasn't a corpse, it was still intact and in perfect condition as if it was alive, yet it was motionless and the eyes were soulless with nothing there but black smoking holes in the sockets, it was a husk. Domino poked it and saw the husk was hiding some more jewelry and things: A necklace made out of seashells with a blue scallop shell being the main pendant, a stuffed hawk plush, and five fat blue jay plushes accompanying it, and an egg the size of an ostrich's yet it had spotted features on it hailing from a reptile's. Since he already took the necklace, Domino thought it wouldn't hurt to take all the others, the husk didn't really have any sentience... for now. Domino gathered them all into his pockets and bag, He then continued down the alleyway he was in to feed his curiosity. Domino walked down and looked at the walls that kept him in and what made the alleyway, an alleyway, he saw there were no windows, no posters, no anything that would make an alleyway stand out. He then noticed patches of grass growing on the brick road, not growing through the lines, but actually growing on it, fascinated and he looked around to see if there was anything different and he saw a grand, whimsical, and very out-of-place wooden door in front of him: the door gave off a mystical energy to him, the carvings in it made it look like a tree and they were emitting a green aura inside, it seemed to call after Domino to open it. Domino marveled at it but he was marveling for too long and suddenly, the door's... doors opened wide opened and started to suck him in to where what lies ahead.
Aurora was keeping on the main road, she assumed that Domino broke off to find that someone. She was marveled at the huge buildings with houses while she moved with the crowd. While she wasn't paying attention, a man bumped into her and she fell back along and so did him. Several papers, makeup, jewelry, money fell out on the floor, the crowd went around the mess along with Aurora who was on the ground with a scraped knee, "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, miss!" the man said, he was somehow totally fine and he was already gathering Aurora's stuff on the ground for her, "Please forgive me. I believe this is all your stuff now?"
"Yeah! It is! Thanks, mister, do you want me to help you?" Aurora said now standing up, she got her stuff back from him and was about to start to crouch down again,
"No thanks, I can help myself. Here, take this bandage for your knees. I'll be seeing you later." the man said, he handed her a bandage and he quickly gathered his stuff and left,
Aurora checked her bag to see if anything was missing for reasons already mentioned, everything was in place without a single item missing. Aurora then saw something that wasn't there before, a note the size of a greeting card saying, Welcome!, "Hey! Mister! I think you mixed up something!" Aurora said, she looked back and saw he wasn't there anymore and she didn't even catch his face so finding the authorities were out of the question. She looked back at the card and saw it was addressed to her which led her eyes to widen. Curious, she opened it and read the writing inside.
To Whom it May Concern or just to you, Aurora,
If you are reading this note then you probably just arrived at New Timpani. Your caretaker/Regent/aunt, Harriet Crystal has already enrolled you in a school there.
P.S. Your castle is still frozen. Sincerely, Sol
Aurora was left confused, what school? She was left with that question in her mind as she didn't pay attention to where she was walking and before she knew it, she was in front of a gigantic set of double doors. She walked inside and then someone popped up right next to her, "Hi! You must be Aurora Crystal, your aunt enrolled you in here."
"Wait, what?" Aurora could only say, she was then dragged off by the woman,
"Alright, your application is already filled out. You just need to get into uniform," she said, she brought Aurora over on a bullseye on the wall,
"What uniform? Because I am not taking off my favorite dress or this brooch!"
"Relax, it'll be just a quick change and that's it." The woman said, she then pressed a button and a giant machine covered her now,
"Ack!" Aurora could only say, quickly, the machine was down and now she was in a pretty haute gown for a princess, "Okay, I guess this is fine" She could only say, she wasn't a big fan of corsets or tiaras but it was free at least. She was then now dragged off to whatever she was going.
