My Delicate Delinquent

Chapter 2: Unwanted Occurences

Chapter 2: Unwanted Occurences

Sep 02, 2017

I got a tardy in my next class, I was also accused of ditching. I yank my lunch bag angrily from my locker. Some idiot decided to glue it to the back of my locker, now I need a new lunch bag. I sigh as the strap rips. I wasn't planning on eating anyway.

Turning around, I bump into someone and they grab my arms so I don't fall. Its that guy again. "S-Sorry..." I mumble and step back since we are mere centimeters apart. "You should be geek." One of the girls next to him says crossly and I roll my eyes. "Calm down Regi, its not that serious." My eyes widen in surprise.

Last time a guy bumped into him, he knocked the guy out with one punch. The girl next to him has a broken jaw from shock. "But she-!" He cuts off the girl with blonde hair and brown eyes. "I said its not that serious, she only bumped into me." He shrugs and looks at me.

"Just don't do it again," I raise an eyebrow and turn to walk away without another word. "Hey don't be ru-!" I ignore the girl as I walk off and around the corner. I walk to the nearest restroom and go inside. Looking in the mirror, I sigh. No major insomnia so I shouldn't be getting circles around my eyes...

I touch my eye lightly, ever since a month ago I haven't been getting much sleep. The doctor says I should be able to get more sleep soon but I doubt it. I walk into one of the stalls and close the stall door. Inside I put down my things and run my hands through my messy hair.

I sink to the floor and pull out a notebook from my bag. I grab a mechanical pencil, I can't stand normal pencils because they have no grip to them. I open my notebook and start to sketch. A couple minutes later and someone walks into the restroom. I look up, slightly alert. No one really comes in here.

A knock is heard on my stall and I narrow my eyes at it. "Yes...?" I almost sigh in relief when I hear Jim's voice. "Ima, you in in there?" He asks, I unlock the stall door and he opens it. "Why are you in the girl's restroom..?" I ask softly from my seat on the floor. He smiles and sits down next to me. "You're hiding in here."

I shake my head, "not hiding-." He finishes for me, "being comfortable. I know." He laughs and I smile slightly. "What're you doing in here anyway?" He asks and tugs lightly on my shoulder length hair. "Drawing," I answer and swat at his hand gently. He smiles and looks at my paper, "you haven't started much."

I nod, "it takes time." Then I point to the opposite side of the stall, "sit there." He nods and shifts so that he's sitting across from me. I blink and turn the page, starting to sketch him. "I don't get it, why do you like staying in here all the time?" I glance at him and go back to drawing. "Its quiet."

He frowns slightly, "and there's no one around." I pause a moment and nod before going back to my drawing. I'm finished with his hair and head, now I have to draw his eyes, mouth and nose. "Why don't you even try to talk to people?" I sigh and look at him, placing my arms over the drawing and pushing the notebook on my lap.

I give him a look and he frowns, "right..." He mumbles and I go back to drawing. He's silent for the rest of the time that I draw. When I'm done, I frown at my picture. "It doesn't look like you..." He takes it from my hands, "its like looking into a mirror. This is awesome!" He shouts in excitedment, I shake my head.

"It doesn't look real." I persist and try to take it back so I could fix it. He pulls it out of my reach and I pout. "It looks amazing, can I keep it?" I nod and he takes it out my notebook. I take my notebook and check the time, putting away my things.

"Lunch over?" Jim asks and I nod, standing up. "I'll see you after school, okay Ima?" I nod and we leave the restroom together. I wave at him and walk the other direction to my class, I probably won't see him....he has friends. I think as I hurry because the bell's about to ring.
