The Fairies and Nymphs were always considered to be the kingdom Ethster’s source of life whilst the Harpies where Dradelee’s source, but it was just how Humans thought… The Elves knew better…
The Humans had lost most of their Magic. Besides Gypsies, that were the most known about, there were some other cults that still practiced it, but no one knew for sure how many or if just a rumor. No one is too sure of when it happened, but it was clear after the war… That the Humans’ Magic was disappearing slowly, just after the Mermaids had disappeared from their waters and Fairies from their skies and Nymphs from their forest, it is the reason they thought it was these creatures that kept life in this world, though Elves weren’t classified directly as Fair Folk, they shared the same relationship with the world as these beings did; as Magic was a symbol of life.
Once the war ended, Dradelee’s people too disappeared, no one even remembers who they were, not whether they were Human or Elven, but the Harpies remained, sealing away Dradelee behind volcanoes. The Fairies and Nymphs still showed themselves in Ethster for the Elves, and a few Humans feared their own land’s death, and thus allowed only the Elves that had always lived near the ocean in the south to remain, to help keep the Mermaids from ‘dying’, but it was nothing so horrid!
Most of the Fair Folk just didn’t like Humans, but still remained where they were; they just decided not to show themselves. In the past, they had only allowed themselves to be seen by Humans, because the Elves had accepted the Humans.
Then there was the little advantage of Elves being able to understand what the Fair Folk said, though not speak the tongue themselves, though the Fair Folk rather prefered speaking telepathically to each other. Their voices sounded to humans of growls, snarls and whispers; which, unable to make out the words to the Mermaids' songs, enchanted many Humans to fall victim to a watery grave, trying to get near the singing Mermaids and Mermen.
Cetcily travelled nearly over a month to reach this town, and for the last four days she felt sick! Arriving in the village of Seayer the Humans were weary of her, and would have chased her away for being an outsider, an Elf not from their Village, but the Elves could sense Mermaid about her; not much else though as they weren't familiar with the other Fair Folk; but had insisted that for the sake of learning why the Mermaids became calmer the longer the young woman remained in the viallge, they had to allow cetcily to stay there.
The Humans, too, noticed as days continued by that the Mermaids became more, this was the only reason why they started tolerating Cetcily - in hopes not to potentially anger the Mermaids.
One man, a Healer, a Druid, was kind enough to have her stay with him. He was kind and to Elves and Humans alike, and something about him told her she could trust him with her life! Even a Half Elf, Tay, was able to freely live and talk with the Druid Healer and the two of them became close friends. He trained, the Halfling in the arts of Healing and even allowed Cetcily to learn, having sensed that she could learn it fairly easily, as simple as breathing was itself! Soon he thought of her as a daughter which he never had, and accepted her despite not knowing her secrets!
After another two months Cetcily’s belly clearly showed a swell, she was pregnant. Again this drew judging eyes to her, but she lied again and told them that her husband, a human, died protecting them from other Humans and is the reason she found herself here now with them. This was going to be her new home, as well as this unborn child of hers’, she was going to make sure of it! She wouldn’t allow what had happened with her in her old town to her own child!
