Madam Edna, the only human within The Last, strolled into the class, cocky looking as ever. She began to the class with a warm up by transferring the modern day class into an alchemy one and having us search for our seats because they rotated every day.
Once the warm up was finished she called for homework in which I started to dig into my bag and found it not done. I still had the empty vials at the bottom of my bag while everyone else brought out vials of pretty colors.
She saw this and proceeded to yell at me before sending me outside to hold two buckets of cement water in the hallway while standing. Cement water is basically what it seems. It’s supposed to feel as if you have two buckets of heavy ass concrete.
“This. Sucks!” My angry voice roared in the hall.
“Yoooo! Look who it is!” I heard Jund’s voice come from down the hall. I turned my head to see him, ambling like a delinquent in the hall.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, “This isn’t Spades ya fuck.”
“I know that! I’m trying to find Marilyn’s class.” He stopped in front of me.
“Leave her alone. You know she’s scared of you.” I said.
“Is she really!?” He gasped, his sharp eyes becoming dish plates.
Out of all the times I saw them together it looks like she’s about to have a heart attack. She’s always sweating and is a nervous wreck like a small rabbit who was caught by a fox. I figured she was just scared of Jund.
“Why…?” He questioned, putting on his perplexed face. He then looked back at me, wanting an answer.
“You should ask her,” I suggested.
“I will when I find her!” He made a ball with his right hand and punched his left hand. Although it may seem like he wants to kill her with his bare hands, doing this is a sign of love and compassion in the Altherian Culture.
“She’s in the Ultier section of the Institution. You know, The Oval Garden ‘cause they’re the only healers in this world.” I told him.
“Really?! Thanks, Ninety-One! Can I have one of those buckets?” He requested.
“Sure? You know its punishment, right?” I said, handing him one of the buckets.
“Of course! I just set mine down not too long ago!” He took the bucket and I could feel my brain do a “?!”
“Alright gotta go splash this on that Hellian nerd! He threatened to write me up to the Guidance Principle until I vanished. See ya later!” He bided and soon his after image was the only thing that was standing near me.
I smiled. It seems that Jund found someone who has his interest. They always say that most first loves form within The Last and apparently it happened to Mom too.
The day I handed Dad the note from Professor Unknown, I told them what he told me about them. Mom cackled, wiping tears from her emerald eyes while Dad’s face turned bright red as he ran his fingers through his midnight colored hair.
“You see…the truth is that…I wasn’t even old enough to enter into that bar!” She panted, slowly descending to the floor before going into a laughing fit.
Dad coughed as his red color of his face dwindled down, "What Keith told you was partially true. I did fall in love with your Mom the minute she clocked me and I did confess to her a few days after that. However, after she accepted my love to her, she proceeded to tell me that she wasn’t even old enough to enter a bar and was still attending The Last and had a half a year left until she graduated."
I gasped, "What?! Mom how could you?!"
Dad shook his head as he glared at Mom with his opal eyes before looking back at me, "I know. It was complicated and a terrible situation all because she had a fake I.D and was drinking."
"It wasn’t that complicated Jin." Mom finally inhaled after laughing for so long. She moved her curly flaming red hair out of her face and it was like looking into a mirror. I resembled a lot like her. Copper colored skin and red hair.
"Your parents almost murdered me," Dad stated.
"I wouldn't let them. We're only four years apart." She said, sitting up on the floor and crossing her legs. "Besides everything’s alright now. You knocked me up with that thing and now we're a big happy family!" She pointed at me.
I snapped, "Who the fuck are you calling thing?"
Her eyes became daggers as she jumped up and charged me. Our hands locked together in a mad battle of strength as we tried to push one another away.
"You ya shitty ass brat!" She shouted, bending my hands back, "And what have I told you about cursing in the house?!"
"You're cursing yourself, woman!" I pointed out, "Stop breaking your own rules!"
"Shut up! Who taught you how to talk back to your mother?!" She questioned.
"Obviously you!" I answered and she nodded her head.
"Stop fighting or else both of you aren’t getting ice cream tonight." Dad threatened and Mom gasped, grabbing me by my wrist and flinging me from the foyer and into the living room.
I blinked, realizing I’m still standing in the hallway with two buckets in my hands.
“My parents are weird,” I said out loud as if I had found this information out recently.
