Theo went to sit on the ground legs spread out to allow Asha to take her place. With him was a few items that he could see she was curious about.
“First you need to understand how Aura is formed! Aura is the elemental characteristic of Mana inside of every living thing, Mana being in its purest form, can’t be used by either Human or Elves directly, but Mana can seep into us and help us develop an Aura, but it’s very little and takes a long time to do because of something like a barrier. Imagine Mana being made up of sand and stones and the barrier a cloth, sand can’t go through the cloth, even less so for the small rocks and stones, but dust can, dust being even finer than sand!” Theo explained to her slowly taking time to draw pictures in the ground of the flowerbeds before taking the cheese cloth and throwing a handful of dirt in it, shaking it gently to allow the finest dirt to pass and fill a bowl, leaving the clots and rocks behind in the cloth.
“But we can increase our own Aura by absorbing Mana directly too through meditation, this is like picking out the pretty stones you like or need and directly placing them inside the barrier, or better yet like Tay grinds down the plants until they become a liquid or a fine grain… You can grind down the sand and rocks into dust to pass through the cloth. But you’re special, Mana seems to freely flow through you, there’s no barrier preventing you from taking in Mana as you need it to form your Aura and so ever since you were born your Aura has already been developing.” Theo paused to look at Asha as she took in what he was explaining. To make the light bulb click he took the cloth again and this time roughly wacked it against the side of the bowl, loosening the clots causing more dirt to pass through he then went to take a few of the rock out of the cloth and placed it in to bowl.
“Do you see what I did? This is the same for meditation.” She nodded.
“But I don’t have to do that, right?”
“Exactly! So now we want to see to which of your characteristics your Aura took to. A person who is stubborn, his Aura might be earth, because earth is steady and solid. Someone who easily gets angry, well their Aura will take that and take on the element of fire.” Theo explained, and was surprised when she beamed up at him and continued for him.
“And if someone is caring, water, or fun they can be wind!” Her smile filled him with joy, she was smart, and she was his little girl!
“You are right! But each element has other characteristics too, that can match the person’s! For example, a person who is caring, is considered warm…”
“So fire?” Asha questioned Theo, taken aback some.
“Yes, but it all depends on the person and their personality compared to those characteristics of theirs, so rather than looking just at one aspect, Aura is formed based on all of them! The easiest way to find out what element or elements your Aura formed into is divided into a color spectrum… A set of colors.” Theo corrected forgetting he was still taking to a child not a scholar.
“Most commonly the colors are red for fire, green for wind, blue for water orange for orange for earth, white for light and black for darkness. The Gypsies also tell of a yellow for lightning, an element used only by the old ones and gold, the very color of Mana, and the color of pure Aura!” Theo pointed out, bringing forth his Aura to flow around his hand.
“It’s green and blue, Water and Wind, right?” Asha responded in kind.
“Precisely, and when I’m not focused on just one element of my and call it forth it will show it’s true form, which is different from everyone’s! Tay’s Aura if was just green and blue like mine, would still be different, the green might be darker or the blue lighter, or a different shade of blue completely, like that blue one blue dress of yours, it’s a blue called ‘aqua’ while the blue of the sky right now is called ‘sky blue’.”
“And this green is different from this green?” She pointed out to two the dying roses’ leaves and to withering grass.
“Yes. And if I think of what water feels or is to me…” She watched as Theo’s Aura changed from the Duo colors to just blue.
“I can have the Aura I call forth form just one of my elemental natures.”
“Can I try?” She pleaded, excited to see what her elements might be!
“You can, we’ll start with the easy part, to see your true Aura. Now I want you to focus on your natural energy, feel it pulsing through you. Because it is so normal to you living with it every day, it’s hard to explain what it should feel like, but picture that everything you feel, warm, cold, sore, forms a part of your energy and bring it all into one place, your hand, then try to push it out to cover your hand. ” Theo instructed her. The chill was setting in as it neared winter, but Asha became more alive during these times. He waited patiently as she focused to try and get to what felt like ‘energy’.
“It’s hard!” Asha started complaining, but wasn’t about to give up, Theo pictured this stubbornness of hers to perhaps have formed her Aura around the Earth element, and thought of every other part of her nature that could be directed to earth; love for nature, her steadfastness, her decisiveness, and her courage!
“Got it!” Asha said with excitement and sure enough surrounding her hand was something not even Theo could ever think possible…
