Fang and Dovelie drove down the path and into a black forest, there was no color and Fang couldn't even see any through his vision. Fang stopped in the middle of the forest, he got off and got his pants on again, "Alright, there should be one of those people we could find. If there's somewhere as dark and 'foresty' as this place, there's bound to be that fairy." Fang said, "You can stay here if you want but I'm gonna look around." Fang started to look around the forest leaving Dovelie on the bike. She kind of just sat there doing nothing, only sitting still to wait for him. As she looked around her surroundings, her newfound curiosity activated in her mind and she decided to walk off the opposite direction Fang went. Dovelie looked around the white trees and black leaves and vice versa, the more she looked around the more common the black trees were. Dovelie walked through and the forest became denser and darker until she could only see black, the darkness was then started to fade away and there was now three white mushrooms that looked like two chairs and a table. On the "table" mushroom, a jade teapot in the shape of a pagoda with a tray of red and black sugardough cookies that looked like playing cards, the playing cards in Greyscale, however, were only black and white for Spades and Clubs and inverted for Hearts and Diamonds. There was also a black satchel that looked like it was to hold the cookies and the teapot, Dovelie picked it up and saw a note attached to the strap:
To the Girl of Black and White,
Hide this from anyone until your time of great need, no matter what never show it to anyone with a face or color until those you have made friends with after reading this message can. Be sure to save those cookies too for the less fortunate.
- D
Dovelie saved the note into the bag and she gathered all the things around it and hid them inside the satchel. She walked back and saw that the bike was gone, Dovelie looked around and she saw a note on the floor:
To Dovelie,
Sorry but before I could find you, I had to leave, I hope you don't take it personally as I found the actual person I was supposed to help.
- Fang
Dovelie couldn't believe what she read, she sat on the road and wept silently of no tears, her colorful vision faded away but her own color was still there. She couldn't believe someone she trusted so fast and he left, just like that. She got back up and saw something on the floor, it seemed to have been from Fang's bag, Dovelie now stopped considering Fang her friend so she picked it up and it was the same book Fang used to become a human, she dropped them in her bag and she started to go down the road again on foot.
Dovelie was then stopped by an eight-way fork in the road, they were branching into different cities which looked all the same to the Non-Greyscalian eye. Dovelie read the crossroad sign with her black dull eyes: Monochrome Metropolis, Clearwater City, Brighton, Darkopolis, Clockwork Capital, Cosmo Country, Moonlight Mansion, and another sign that was scratched out and there was no path to it either (Of course people in Greyscale were uncreative and blunt). Monochrome Castle was part of Monochrome Metropolis but usually as just a regular living place since it wasn't really stated what form of government Monochrome Metropolis had, so much the entire world knew what each one had. The government was just that people do whatever they want, own businesses, make their own business, work under a business, but the hard part is, is people's motivation in Greyscale. You see, things are very uniform in Greyscale, people don't really express a lot of emotion and they usually don't which lead to them being faceless but they can somehow communicate perfectly with their own language, Monotone. Dovelie stopped remembering and figuring out how Greyscale worked and so she just went to Monochrome Metropolis, the path was straight as an arrow like everyone in Greyscale and everybody was happy, or something that they felt that didn't give them discontent or a disturbance in their routine.
Dovelie arrived near it, she read the arch reading: Monochrome Metropolis. The arch wasn't really an arch, just a sign that was pretty high up there. Dovelie walked further in, she was kind of sticking out but no Greyscalians paid any attention. They were, however, though they didn't show it, were shifting their non-existent over to a girl with a half shaven blonde hair, which everyone knew that no one could pull that off, no one! The hair was way too messy and horrible to be from someone of Greyscale but it was from someone here, supposedly. She was Rainbow, yes that is her name, Rainbow (or Bow, if you didn't want to inflate her already expanding ego) is a loud and obnoxious girl, she is (somehow) the only one born with the ability to see and make colors and have human facial features such as natural skin color, hair color, nose, mouth, and eyes. 'Bow was the "chosen" one that was connected to the girl that Fang mentioned some time ago which Dovelie forgot, she was able to give anybody color but with that, she caused chaos and ensued panic amongst the Greyscalians giving them all these rush of emotions they couldn't comprehend. Dovelie saw that this edgy and "special" girl had some kind of entourage, an old man, a robot, a girl with a giant flower for hair, and a fanged man; Fang. Dovelie noticed it and she went over to him and called out to him, "Hey, Fang! Where were you?!" Dovelie said, she didn't say it in an angry tone but more of a hurt tone, Fang turned around and saw her,
"Dovelie? ...Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry for leaving you here, I didn't know why but-" Fang said, he was then cut off by something shining in his eyes that hurt Dovelie's newly made eyes,
"Hmm? What was that Fang?" The trying-too-hard girl said, "Is there someone you wanted me to know about?" she continued, Fang said nothing, the girl looked at Dovelie, "Hmph! You know people like you should get out of the way of heroes, it will make saving this world much faster."
The girl then left with her group now walking as one, Dovelie's newfound heart broke apart at the hurtful words from that girl. And to top it all off, the retina-straining girl then shot out a retina-straining beam and it blasted toward Dovelie behind her back. Dovelie became paralyzed and before she could shed a tear, her eyes, mouth, and nostril have been sealed shut.
