The Girl With Wings.

On my own.

On my own.

Sep 09, 2017

After that, I rose from the chair, brushed of my current attire-still the hospital gown- and left the coffee shop. My wings folded back out of my shoulders of my own will, and I took off.

I didn't know how to react when he just gave his tragedy to me, then expected me to give mine in return. I was aggravated that he expected this from me, so I left. I fly through the sky, looking back constantly to see if he followed me, but aside from a few birds, the sky remained empty.

I landed where my house used to be. My eyes swelled with tears. This wasn't supposed to happen. And giving me wings was not  going to bring my house back. I ravaged through the ashes and found some presentable cloths that I could wear. I changed into them, right in the middle of the lot. I didn't care because my wings shielded me from having to change in full nudity. After I was dressed, I took off. I had another stop to make.

Once more, I came to a halt at the city prison, where my former-lover was now residing. He burned my house down. He burned my parents to a crisp. He almost burned me  down. I walked into the prison, eyes swimming with angry tears. The officers took me to the visiting room, where he waited on the other side of the glass. "Hey babe." He smiled at me, the smile that I loved, the smile that I trusted, the smile that he gave me when he lit the match that killed my family.

"Don't call me that." I scowled at him.

"Why not?" He stared at me innocently.

"You murdered my parents, burned my house down, and tried to murder me!" I was almost shouting.

"Calm down, its not that big of a deal."

"Hell yes it is!" I glared daggers at the boy that I used to love.

"Babe-"

"No. Don't call me that. I came here for answers."

"Leave that to the police." He got up and left. A moment later, I did too.
