It was Asha’s very first spring when we Gypsies of the Phoenix Caravan passed through Seayer on our return to the dessert plains of Caynyan in the North. I had heard so much about the new Elf at my friend, Theo's home, and how she even accepted Tay. Apparently the woman, Cetcily was pregnant with a Human's child; she didn't give much details out about her life, but of course! It was hard for any Elf and Human to get along and even less so for Elves or Humans to accept Halflings!
The less people knew about her and her past the saver it would be for the baby, is what I imagine would be going through her mind. Heading straight for the mansion up high on a cliff, I left the Caravan to set up, with my newly-wed wife, and childhood friend, Celli we were going to surprise my dear old friend! At first everything was quiet, too quiet the front door locked... Theo never locked his doors! I could sense the Mana in the air being drawn toward the back of the house, and the hairs on my arm were standing upright...
Walking around I saw a cot in the shade of a tree and inside a baby was sleeping, I could see someone moving about in the Greenhouse and passed it off as Tay, knowing the Halfling loved it in there and hated anyone who disturbed her place of solitude! Stepping closer I could hear Celli wooing over the baby. The Mana surrounding the baby... A laugh exscaped me, this sleeping little critter was going to be strong when she grows up! But there was something else that had my mind occupied too...
"Seg! She's just so adorable!" Celli Squealed, I walked up to to her just as she picked the baby out of the cot, the blankets unfurling around the small bundle to reveal slightly odd round bumps on the infant's head and noticing the scales on her neck, I thought to myself I should act surprised... But ever since we reached the house I could sense Fair Folk around here.
"Seg... Can you believe it? An Otherkin!" She smiled broadly, truly, to be able to meet a child born from a blessed... It was rare enough to have any of the Fair race bless either Human or Elf but for the Blessed to have children...
"Her Aether is out of balance though... Seg?" She handed me the baby and with a flick of my wrist his Magic flared!
Warming her and balancing out her natural energy with the her surging Aether, a golden Aura enveloping the both of us... This was new... But then again it was the first time I had to do this with an Otherkin! Taking the excess Mana around her and 'burning' it before it is taken in by her was the easy part, but get the buildup of Aether in her was harder, no person is able to use Aether of another living thing! But it can be coaxed into 'exhausting' itself! Like a fever that expels the toxins that makes a person ill!
