“Theo…” Cetcily quickly averts her eyes to Asha the golden light dying down completely now.

“Segre? You’re balancing gout her Aether, why?” I quickly realized what was happening, having seen Segre do the same only once for a young talented Fire Castor in his caravan, the boy had lost control completely over his Aura, but instead of a Golden light it was a nearly invisible red that flickered over the boy, only the boy…

“Yes and the why no one noticed, not you, or the villagers or the soldiers what with their little gadgets to detect when Mana is being expended, is the mystery… Theo the girl… The moment I let up burning the Mana around her she’ll be overwhelmed with Aether again, I only tried easing up once before, when it started to dim about an hour ago, but… Celli is busy with the ointment; Tay do you mind helping her? Cetcily you stay with them, it’s important you know how to make it for future emergencies!” Segre ushered. Segre frowned as he watched Tay enter the kitchen.

Cetcily was hesitant, her nerves on edge, perhaps with ‘strangers’ holding her child? I know I hadn’t told her much about them, only that I’d love her to meet them, but that was under different means, not them surprising her home alone! But she nodded and left following after Celli and Tay.

“I see…” Segre, seemed to confirm something to himself.

“Mind enlightening the two of me?” I took a seat opposite Segre.

“Tay, she’s afraid. Celli had a vision just as soon as Winter’s day started, Tay facing her fear of being left alone again, I see now that it’s more than just that though! She’s interpreting her fears wrong, she thinks the girl is to blame for something! And that that makes her dangerous…” I knew Tay was acting strange, but now at least I had an idea of how I could get Tay and Cetcily to talk again!

“So no one is sensing her Aether being out of control, how did you know?” I enquire curious.

“The Mana around her, and the when I started the golden light around her, told me just how serious it was! Theo do you know of all the Elements?” Segre seemed to have knowledge I lacked, and I wasn’t about to opt out on learning as much as possible to help Asha grow into a fine young lady!

“Fire, Earth, Wind and Water the basics and the only Elements that you as Gypsies can use, even if you have and only one of those! Same for Witches, Warlocks and Mages, who are scarce. Witches and Warlocks are though able to cast their Magic with the Dark attribute and Mages with Light… While Gypsies have no affinity to either, but your Magic is more refined and stronger than theirs. Even we Druids only have the four basic Elements to aid us, with a very rare few exceptions such as you and Celli, who were Blessed because you have an affinity for both Light and Dark Elements.” This was all basic knowledge even to commoners who had no Auras! Well Except for the fact that Witches, Warlocks and Mages existed, they were rumors part of ancient myths and legends! In a way Tay was a Mage, as she’s the first Halfling known to be able to cast Magic!

“Yes those are the known Elements, but there are many more, such as Plant Magic used by Nymphs, Magma by the Harpies, Ice, Sound, Gravity, Space, Time, Lightning… There are more, most have a base Element or elements allowing Gypsies to work together to cast it, like Plant Magic being of Earth and Water, And to perfect the magic Light is needed, but That’s where all ‘Human’ magical capabilities fall short, Ice is that of wind and Water while Magma is Fire and Earth; but there are Null attributed Magic as well! Like that of Cetcily.” Segre smirks.

“You know about Cetcily?”

“Yes, not everything but most, I mean How can I not after holding Asha for over two hours!” He made a valid point!

“Plus she casted a summoning spell, it surprised me to see Heath away from the Fire Temple! Null attributed or rather the Void Elemental Magic are the only Magic that doesn’t require a person to have an Aura…”

“So anyone can use it?” This was shocking, if this was the case, and the set truth about Magic was that it required Aether, then that meant these types of Null Magic fed on the Primary Aether that was supposed to be unused.

“No, It uses Mana directly, not Aether. Or if Aether is used it uses quite a bit of a person’s reserve!” I nod this made sense, easing back on my worries that Cetcily might have been using her very life force.

“But then there is Lightning, it doesn’t fall under any one of the Elements, instead it is something of collection of all of them! Lightning is light, but it can cause fire, it is warm, but doesn’t burn, it create unique space, that Celli uses to smother any uncontrolled flames during Fire Shows, and het it isn’t air, it makes sound when connects with the earth, it requires a substance, can be any sort of moisture or even dust… When lightning strikes it can split tress, or create glass… It’s wonderful Element, and best yet it is an ‘energy’ of its own! Did you know that the Fair Folk communicates mainly telepathically?” I nod after all Cetcily had already told me as much.

“Well that is the natural occurring Magic they are able to tap into because of their Inherent Lightning Element! Only Fair Folk can tap into a slither of the potential Lightning holds and only the Old Ones are has it in their full control. Even Spirits only are given an inkling amount of Lightning even Humans, and Elves, but we are unable to use it! Because it is so very little… Or rather we use it every time we move, breath, talk, think, feel pain… I don’t know what that Element’s color is but, the Gold light… I think Asha is an Otherkin.” Now I had to let out a smug, I knew something he did not, as a Leader to the Gypsies Segre was able to learn from these “Guardians” at the Temple they visited each year, but Otherkin? That was just another legend that came to life after the War of the Races!

“No, sorry to say it, but she is part Dragoon, part Human, Part Elf and part Mermaid! Look below her scales.” I tell him and to his shock gills revealed itself to him. I tell him the rest of the story, how Cetcily’s Father was saved after a Harpies gave her blood to him, and her mother blessed by the Fairies and Nymphs, she herself a born between an Elf and Merman. Other question sparked like when did Cetcily’s Aura manifest and why not sooner, I could only assume it was due to the fact that Asha was born on that particular day… The day that Dawn was black as night…
