Drake invited me to his house, where I would be tutoring him from now on. When we got there nobody else was home, so I didn't get to meet his parents. He led me to his room, which was a little messy. He had a pile of clothes on the floor, his desk had papers all over it, but his bed was made very nicely with a plaid blue blanket and matching pillowcases on his pillows.
"So, this is my room." Drake said, "Do you want to sit on my bed or on the floor by my coffee table?" It was then that I noticed that there was a black coffee table against the wall.
"I'd rather sit at the coffee table." I said, "So, you can show me what you don't understand." Drake smiled.
"Okay." Drake said as he sat down at his coffee table, "Come on, Nicky, sit down." I smile and sit down next to Drake. Drake takes his notebooks out and puts one on the table. It read 'Algebra 3' on it and Drake opens it.
"So," I said, "What do you find hard?" Drake points to red marks all over his notebooks.
"The teacher took my notebook to grade and she said that I messed up too often." Drake said. I showed him how to properly answer the questions in a way that would help anyone understand how to do it. Soon enough, Drake finished his Algebra 3 homework and he understood it much better.
"Um..." I said, "Should I go home now?"
"No, Nicky." Drake said, "Stay for dinner. I'm sure that you'll love my parents."
"Okay?" I said, "If you really think so."
"Drake, I'm home." a woman's voice called from downstairs, "Do you have a friend over?"
"Yeah, Mom." Drake shouted, "I brought my new girlfriend home."
"Oh." Drake's Mom shouted, "Bring her down. I'd love to meet her." I sighed.
"Sure." Drake shouted, "We'll be right down." Drake stood up and helped me up. He led me downstairs and I saw his mother. She was pretty with long blond hair and big blue eyes. She was also about four and a half inches taller than me.
"Well, aren't you adorable?" Drake's Mom asked, "What's your name, sweetie?"
"Nikolai Favaer." I said. Drake's Mom smiled.
"So, Nicky?" Drake's Mom asked, "How did you meet Drake?"
"To be honest?" I said, "I met him in first grade. He sat next to me and called me 'tiny'. I've had a crush on him since then." Drake and his mom looked very surprised.
"You're 'tiny'?" Drake asked, "I loved 'tiny'."
"Wow, that's a long time to like someone." Drake's Mom said, "Good for you, Nicky, and you too, Drake." Drake smiled and wrapped an arm around me.
"There's so much I wanted to tell you, 'tiny'." Drake said.
"Drake, how about you set the table?" Drake's Mom said, "Dad's going to be here soon and Suzy is at a friend's."
"Okay, Mom." Drake said, "Nicky, you can go watch some TV in the living room if you want." Drake pointed to the next room.
"No, I'm fine." I said, "I'll help." So, Drake and I set the table. A man, possibly Drake's dad, with light brown hair and brown eyes, walked in the front door. Drake smiled when he saw the man.
"Hey, Dad." Drake said, giving the guy a fist bump, "How was work?"
"Boring as ever." Drake's Dad said, "But..." Drake's Dad looked at me, "Who's that?"
"That's Nicky." Drake said, "Or 'tiny' or whatever you want to call her. She's my new girlfriend and she was tutoring me in math today." Drake ran a hand through his light brown hair and it was obvious that he took after his dad.
"Tiny?" Drake's Dad asked, "Like the girl you liked in first and second grade? Wow, how time flies."
"Yeah, I know, right?" Drake said, "Isn't she beautiful?" I smiled a little at that comment.
"Okay, everyone." Drake's Mom said as she brought in the food, "Dinner is ready."
"Cool." Drake said as he sat down and motioned me to sit down next him, which I did.
