1. Their cruel and heartless words always wound me.

2. Although by now I shouldn’t be bothered,

3. Every day I feel like debris.

4. “Maybe they’re right,” are thoughts that I ponder.

5. I never cry at school, though I’m harassed,

6. But when I’m home alone, the tears will fall.

7. Thinking I’m used to being an outcast,

8. Is but a dream; a wish made by a doll.

9. Being expressionless doesn’t make me dead

10. And derogatory words hurt instead.

11. It seems that to sadness I will be wed

12. Because for days and weeks my heart has bled.

13. People say that words will never hurt me, 

14. And it is true, because they have killed me.
