“Melodie!” Melodie’s eyes snapped open and she sat up in bed seeing Ash there, laughing his head off. "You- should see your-” Melodie pushed him up against the wall, holding him there. "You want to finish that?” She questioned, pulling her fist back.

Ash shook his head, his eyes blown wide with fear.

Melodie dropped him to the ground. "Get out.” Ash got up and quickly flew out. Melodie sighed, shaking her head as she looked at her room.

Her room was open, the walls a light blue and the floors a light birch. On one wall she had a set of french doors that lead to the balcony, overlooking the river next to their home. On the opposite wall she had white folding doors that opened to her closet. Across from the door was her queen bed, a slightly darker blue color, and bamboo frame. There was a large window above her bed, and next to her bed on the wall was a large mirror, covering the majority of the wall. On the wall next to the door sat a glass desk, with a white laptop sitting on it, and a built in bookshelf above the desk.

Melodie walked over to her closet, pulling on her usual outfit, but today she took a dark turquoise ribbon and tied it around her neck, almost covering the scar on her right. She exited her room, taking her time as she rounded the corner and went down the stairs.

The sight waiting there surprised her.

She entered the kitchen to see Koi there, pouring chocolate chips into a blender full of a creme colored substance.

“Koi?” Koi snapped her head towards Melodie. "Oh hey! I decided to make everyone some chocolate chip pancakes!” Melodie’s mouth lifted into a smile. "Thanks Koi, but werewolves can’t have chocolate.” Koi’s tail stopped swishing back and forth for a minute, then continued.

“Then it’s a good thing I used substitute chocolate chips!” Melodie broke into a grin and embraced her friend. "You’re the best!” Koi giggled slightly. Melodie watched her as she cooked, until she heard footsteps coming from the stairs.

“Morning Loki!” Loki was still in his pajamas, a black muscle top and baggy flannel pants. "Hi” Loki said groggily as he sat at the island.

“HA! I won!” The three of them turned to see Sinon dancing around Ash. "Yea because I let you!” Ash insisted.

Melodie smiled and looked at her feet, her hair falling into her face.

“I’m going to go for a walk, I’ll be back soon.” Melodie said, grabbing her sword and phone and walking out the door.

The sky was dotted with small white clouds. The air was dry and the breeze was cool. The wind blew Melodie’s hair behind her and she looked up into the sky, her eyes glinting.

Melodie had been walking along the river, and was now in the cover of trees. She stopped and leaned down to the river, pulling out an empty bottle and collecting some water.

As she screwed the cap back onto her bottle, her touch gentle, she heard a quiet sigh. She turned around, and crept closer to ther noise, her ears twitching to pick up every sound possible.

She saw a boy sitting against a tree. He had dark brown hair and eyes that resembled a mix of an emerald and a rain cloud. His skin was slightly tan, and he had a large scar going across his left eye. Melodie noticed a light blue tail sitting next to him on the ground, as she raised her gaze to his head, her suspicions were found true. Two matching wolf ears stood on his head.

“Hello?” Melodie stepped closer cautiously. The boy turned his head swiftly.

“Who are you?” He questioned, his head tilting, making light shine through his eyes. "I’m Melodie.” as she said this, his eyes widened and a sad expression crossed his face.

As soon as it appeared, the depressed look was replaced with the same emotionless look on his face. "I’m Molius.”

“Nice to meet you! Why are you here all alone?” Molius looked at his feet. "Do you really want to know, girl of air?” Melodie gasped, bringing her hand to her mouth and stepping back.

“How did you-” Molius held up a hand. "Your power is great. And to answer your question, my brother is set out to capture you. Usually I would be afraid of him finding out I told you, but this is a sacred grove. No one can eavesdrop.” Melodie’s eyes widened even more.

Molius continued. "I don’t want to go through with his plan. I don’t want him to be my brother. He’s heartless and cold, and he-” Molius’s voice cracked. "It’s ok. Me and my friends can protect you. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.” Molius looked up at Melodie, eyes full of hope. "You’d do that for me? You just met me..” His voice trailed off and got softer.

Molius looked up to see a hand being held out. Melodie cracked a toothy grin. "Don’t just sit there, let’s go!” Molius stared at her hand, and took it.

“Did you feel that?” Molius stared at Melodie in amazement. "What?” Melodie cocked her head. "Nothing.” Molius shook his head.

“Guys! I’m home!” Koi came and hugged Melodie, and as she broke away Sinon flew into Melodie, knocking her to the ground. "Payback!” Sinon yelled triumphantly.

Melodie smiled. "Everyone, I’d like you to meet Molius!” She nodded at the other werewolf and the others looked at him, not having noticed him before. "Hi,” Molius waved awkwardly.

Loki nodded and Ash held out his hand. "Sup!” Sinon joined Ash closer to Molius and Koi kept her distance, as if reading him.

“His brother is out to get me, but he doesn’t want to go through with it.” Melodie explained to her friends. Koi and Loki nodded and smiled at him, and Sinon rubbed Molius’s head like he was a small kid. Ash had a smirk on his face.

Koi stepped closer. "We have a spare bedroom, it’s yours!” Molius looked at her in disbelief. "Thank you so much!” Koi smiled excitedly. "No problem! I’m Koi, this is Sinon, Loki, and Ash!” She said, pointing at everyone.

Molius smiled warmly.

“Thank you all for being so nice to me.” Melodie put a hand on Molius, making him become stiff, but she didn’t notice. "Not a problem! I’ll show you the room!” Melodie lead him through the kitchen, up the stairs, round the right corner, and down the hall, to the third door on the left. "Here it is!” Molius stepped into the room. It was simple, with french doors like Melodie’s room, a closet and bed. The walls were a pastel orange, the floors a dark oak. The bed was green, and the balcony overlooked the forest.

“It’s beautiful.” Molius said, stepping onto the balcony. "It is.” Melodie said, joining him. Melodie looked back into the hall at the clock.

“Dinners in about an hour. Your welcome to the tv, bookshelf, or desktop, all in the living room, down the stairs to the left.” Molius nodded his thanks and went to the living room, as Melodie went to the kitchen.

The living room was lilac with bamboo flooring. Inside was a dark leather couch and loveseat, along with a large wall-mounted tv across from the seats. There was a few chairs forming a semicircle around a bookshelf on the wall opposite of the tv. At the far wall sat a desk with a desktop on it.

Melodie started cooking some meatloaf, taking out the onions and peppers in the recipe.

Melodie stood on the balcony in her room, staring up at the night sky. Sighing, she went inside, gently closing the glass doors and walking over to the mirror. She stared into her own eyes, then looked at the scar on her neck, putting her fingers to it gently.

“Loki!” Loki came running into the room and hid behind Melodie. Koi burst into the room. "You’re dead!” She yelled. "What did you do this time?” Melodie questioned Loki. "I threw a pillow at her to distract her and then I may have took her brush.” Melodie face palmed and pushed him in front of her, holding him in place. "Have at it Koi.” Koi grinned and beat Loki with a pillow, and prying her hairbrush from his hand once she was done.

“Now both of you please go to bed!” Melodie sighed exasperated. They nodded and left.

“Those two..” Melodie said to herself, laughing slightly as she climbed into bed and fell asleep.

A scream could be heard as all Melodie saw was black. The vision of Molius, bloody and scarred filled her vision, as Ash took his place, bruised and hurt as well. Each of her friends appeared one by one until she could see once more. She was on the roof with Koi again. "I won’t let you be alone.”

“Promise?”

…

“Promise.”

Melodie sat up in her bed screaming as all of her friends rushed into her room as she broke down sobbing.

“Melodie!” Koi and Sinon rushed to her and embraced her as she cried. The boys stood there, worried looks on their faces.

Koi and Sinon got off of Melodie as she looked at everyone. "Promise me none of you will leave me?” Her friends looked at her tear stained face and drained eyes.
