Melodie’s eyes opened slowly, her vision blurring into focus. She turned to look at the silver clock on her bedside table, and her eyes widened. "Oh. My. Lord.” It was eight o’clock, two hours after she usually wakes up. Melodie sprung into action, brushing her hair and throwing on her clothes.

Once she finished her morning routine, she trudged down stairs. "Morning sleepy head.” Loki was sitting at the island, actually dressed for once, shoving a piece of scrambled eggs into his mouth.

“Oh hush! At least you’re not awakened every morning by someone yelling.” Melodie defended.

Loki sighed, turning around and hopping off the stool. "Everyone’s planning on going down to the beach today, you gonna come?” Melodie nodded, grabbing a yogurt from the fridge and tearing open the tab.

Loki sighed and headed upstairs. "Be ready by nine!” Melodie sent a thumbs up towards him, not fully responding because she’s too engrossed in her yogurt.

Melodie threw away the yogurt container, and put her spoon in the dishwasher.

The werewolf walked into the living room, finding Sinon at the desktop playing Minecraft, and Koi at the tv watching anime.

Melodie laughed silently and snuck up on Koi. She stood behind the Felan, waiting for the right moment. As soon as the moment came Melodie almost shouted “Hey Koi whatcha doin’?” Koi jumped up several feet and slightly bumped the ceiling. "Oh my god! Melodie don’t scare me like that!”

Melodie grinned. Sinon had taken notice of the even and was laughing. A streak of yellow and black flew into the room, knocking into the bookshelf.

“Ash? What are you doing?” Sinon said, cocking her head. Ash shook his head, shrugging. "I’m ready for the beach and I don’t want to wait another half-hour.” Koi groaned and shook her head. "Alright. I’m getting ready then. I was just waiting for you guys.”

Melodie chuckled and headed into her room. She picked out a two piece bathing suit with an off the shoulder top that was a light blue, trimmed with silver. Her bottoms were silver trimmed with light blue, with two ribbons on each of her sides.

The werewolf pulled on a simple black cover up and grabbed her towel.

She walked down the stairs to see her friends. Sinon was wearing a plain red one piece, Koi had on a tank top with green and blue stripes going in zig zags with plain black bottoms. Loki had on blue swim trunks with light blue waves on the legs. Ash had on black trunks with yellow tropical flowers on them.

Molius just had on plain army green swim trunks.

“Everyone ready?” Melodie said, giving a toothy grin as everyone nodded. "Let’s go!”

Everyone piled into their Jeep, Koi driving, Melodie riding shotgun, Sinon on the left, Ash in the middle, Loki on the right, and Molius sitting in the very back.

Sinon dozed off, her head resting on Ash’s shoulder. Ash just blushed and smiled.

Melodie stared out the window as they rode, watching the countryside roll by.

Everyone hopped out of the Jeep, grabbing all the stuff they brought.

Melodie laid out her towel and put on sunscreen. Ash tried to set out his towel, but failed miserably as the wind blew the towel in his face, which surprised him, and he fell over, getting coated in sand.

Sinon was dragging Loki into the water, and Molius just sat on his towel, watching everything, amused. Koi went to Melodie. "Wanna go for a swim?” Melodie nodded as she got up from her towel.

Loki escaped Sinon and headed over to Molius. "So whatcha doing?” Loki said, sitting and watching the girls in the water. "Nothing.” Molius cocked his head. "Hey, how come you guys get along so well, since you’re all different species.” Loki raised an eyebrow. "It’s really simple actually. We’ve all had things happen to us, all things that have, been troubling. We each have different scars, and we bond over that. We know what it’s like and we understand each other.”

Molius nodded, almost with a new understanding. The girls were having a splash war, and currently Koi was winning, Melodie was soaked and laughing, and Sinon was cheating by using her wings as shields.

Ash finally got his towel onto the ground. "Alright, I’m not the only one who thinks the girls are extremely cute right now, right?” Molius turned red and Loki chuckled.

The sky had turned dark and stars dotted the navy blanket. Molius was driving the Jeep, Koi and Melodie were leaning against each other, fast asleep, and Ash had his head in Sinon’s lap. Loki was in shotgun, also asleep, his tail laying on the armrest.

As they arrived home, Sinon and Molius had to get everyone to wake up. "Alright, let’s unload the Je-” Sinon was stopped by Koi and Melodie glaring. "To tired. Sleep now.” they said simultaneously.

Melodie and Koi walked into the living room and crashed on the couch, Loki made it to his room, as did Molius and Sinon, but Ash just tripped and fell right in front of the stairs, and slept there.
