Melodie walked down the stairs, yawning slightly. It was a dreary day. Rain was coming down, and everything seemed dull. A large crash was heard as she reached the kitchen. Melodie jumped and started to tear up. Koi, who was making omelets at the stove, noticed Melodie and hugged her. "It's just thunder. It's not gonna hurt anyone."
Melodie reluctantly nodded. "It just reminds me of dad." Melodie got a far off look as she touched the mark on her neck. Koi nodded and touched her friends arm. "He's dead now. You don't have to worry." The two girls jumped as Sinon flew into the kitchen, knocking into them and taking all three friends down.
"Sinon!" Koi yelled, a stern look on her face. "Alright, alright, I'm sorry!" Sinon said, helping Koi and Melodie up. Melodie jumped and broke down, falling to the floor and hiding in her hair. "Mel, you OK?" Sinon said, worried. Koi looked at Sinon in amazement. "You don't know?" Sinon tightened her lips and shook her head. "Melodie is terrified of thunder!"
Sinon's mouth turned into an o. "Sorry Melodie." Koi shook her head as she headed towards the door. "I'm going to go get food for dinner, Sinon, get Loki to finish the omelets." Sinon nodded and flew upstairs as Koi grabbed her cloak from off the table and pulled it on. "Melodie, are you gonna be OK?" Melodie nodded as she shakily got to her feet, heading into the living room to play COD, planning to distract herself.

A mammoth bang was heard and a flash of light lit up the house. A scream was heard outside, but no one heard it due to the thunder.

The rain had stopped, and it was turning into night and Koi had still not returned. "Has anyone heard from Koi?" Melodie said, concerned. Everyone shook their head. "IDIOTS! Why are you just sitting there then?!" Melodie ran up to her room and grabbed her sword.
Rushing down stairs, the werewolf broke down the door. "KOI!!" Melodie screamed, running around the forest surrounding their house. Soon, she came across a clearing, charred and black, presumably from lightning. In the center laid a non-moving lump. "KOI!" Melodie ran to Koi and fell to her knees. "Koi..." Melodie started to cry as she noticed that Koi's tail had been dismembered, and only a small stub was remaining. Melodie lifted up Koi gently, wary of her tail, and took of, bolting back to the house.
