Knock Knock Knock

The sound could be heard through the entire house. The friends all lifted their heads and looked between the door and each other. "Could it be?” Melodie said, looking at everyone. Molius just looked confused.

Everyone rushed to the door, except Molius. "Alright everyone stand back!” Melodie said. Slowly, she reached for the door handle and opened it slowly.

In the doorway stood three people. One was a boy, with light lime colored hair and pink eyes. From his back sprouted dragon wings with white webbing and light lime lining that matched his hair. He wore a red tank top with loose fitting navy jeans, which were almost black. He also had lilac colored shoes and grey glasses.

Another was a girl with deep purple hair and eyes to match, but one eye was slightly lighter. She wore a sky colored tube top with loose black jeans and black and white adidas. On her neck was a black thread with a skull on it.

The last was a girl with blonde hair so bright it was almost bleached. She had two tiny ears on her head that resembled that of a Felan’s. She also had a tail, but it was thin, and looked like it would break if you touched it. She wore a light blue chinese-style top with a light emerald skater skirt. On her feet were worn forest Nikes.

“IRIS!” Koi latched herself onto the bleach blonde girl. "NICOLE!” Melodie tackled the human girl. "Jack.” Loki nodded respectfully to the Dracin. "Hey Loki! It’s been a while!” Hey laughed “So where's Marco and his sisters?” Sinon said, trying not to laugh at the agitated look on Iris’s face.

“They got caught up with somethin- Wait… What happened to Koi’s tail?!” Koi detached herself from Iris. "Long story. But, Melodie, I think you should get off Nikki, you might smother her.” Melodie sighed and got up, pulling Nikki with her.

“So what’s the news?” Koi said, smirking at Iris, who seemed gloomy as ever. “Well, now, we didn’t find anything, unfortunately.” Iris said, glaring at Koi, who’s faced resembled an excited cats.

“What's going on?” Molius joined new everyone at the door. “And who’s this?” Niki said, sizing up the werewolf. “This is Molius!” Melodie said, rubbing his head and flattening his ears. “I really wish you’d stop doing that.” Molius said, not amused. “Keep dreaming!” Melodie smirked.

Nikki took in a huge breath and screeched. “MELODIE’S GOTTA BOYFRIEND!” Molius turned red and Melodie just shook her head. “Uh, no. Nikki, you know I’m about as straight as an eight!” Molius deflated, but Melodie didn’t notice. “Wait a minute, where’s River?” Jack, Iris, and Nikki got quiet. “She- she was captured by the Coal Knights,” Melodie’s eyes widened as Jack finished. “No, no she-” Melodie turned and bolted up to her room. She packed up a cyan rain poncho, a rope, a jacket, a sleeping bag, some packaged food, and a couple bottles of water. She got out her arm and leg guards and slid them on, along with a leather vest.

Pulling the bag over her shoulder, she grabbed her sword and went downstairs to find Koi there, also wearing guards and a vest. On her back an iron battle axe was strapped on, and she also carried a backpack. “Koi, you’re not going” Melodie said. “Yes I am. You need backup, and we decided the others should stay incase something happens here. I won’t be as helpful in battle as someone like Sinon or Loki, but I’m skilled with treating wounds and strategies, and I know how to use an axe. I’m going.” Melodie hugged Koi. Truth be told, Melodie was glad not to be alone. “Alright then, let’s go!” Melodie said, pulling away from Koi.

The bright sun shone down on the woods, streams of light breaking through the trees and onto the small river. Melodie slowly tightrope walked over the river on the fallen tree the laid just above the water's surface. Koi stood at the beginning of the tree, smiling at Melodie.

Melodie reached the end and took a dramatic jump back to the soft grass. Koi applauded and Melodie bowed. “Now hurry up Koi!” Koi shook her head and started over the log. “Says the circus performer.” She muttered to herself. “I heard that!” Melodie yelled. “Oh yeah, werewolf ears. Cool dude.” Koi said, stepping into an area where trees did not cover, making the sunlight shine down on her. “Show off.” Melodie said as she side stepped into the light, the sun making her hair and skin glow. “Hmph.” Koi said. “Let’s go save River!”
