When you woke up that evening you felt much better that you had yesterday, probably as a result of actually sleeping. Thinking about that jogged your memory to when you were still in the day class, trying to sleep during night like your average human. That made you realize just how much better you actually felt nowadays, and how big of a difference the transfer had actually made.
Smiling ever so slightly at that, you sat up to start getting dressed when you remembered something. Last night, you had no memories of walking back to your own room after sitting up with Takuma, so how in the world did you get there? Searching in your mind for an answer, your eyes landed on a piece of paper on your nightstand. Having no memories of placing it there yourself, you picked it up in order to read its’ content.
‘(f/n), you fell asleep, so I decided to carry you back to your room. I love you //Takuma' the note said. You also recognized that specific handwriting, and knew immediately that he had indeed written the note. Seeing this you giggled ever so slightly at his cute and considerate behavior, before getting up and preparing for class.
Once you were done with your evening routine, you decided to head down to the lounge, mostly because you had nothing better to do and time to kill. “Good evening” you say cheerfully as you enter the room, before happily taking your usual seat next to Takuma. As you do this, you instantly see the smirks slapped across Rima’s and Senri’s faces, but you decide to pay them no mind. You knew exactly why they were smirking like idiots, and you wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of blushing, even though that was easier said then done.
Except for those two and Takuma, everyone in the room seemed rather confused yet again, mostly because of your awkward behavior the previous night. It didn’t matter too much, though, as you suspected they’d either figure it out, or Rima and Senri would tell them.
Ignoring all the different glances from people you started up a conversation with your friends, per usual. Much to your surprise, during that conversation, Takuma sneakily placed his arm around you, hand resting on your waist. Your face immediately turned dark red at the contact though, as you looked up at him nervously. As a response you got a somewhat insecure smile along with a faint blush. Taking this as his way of asking if that was alright, you decided to, somewhat awkwardly, lean on his shoulder.
To be fair, the two of you sat in that exact position last night when you were reading, but there was something about doing that with other people around that made you nervous. You could only speculate that he felt the same way about it since he seemed somewhat more awkward than usual. Although, there was one positive aspect in all of that. Most of the people in there seemed to have gotten their heads around what had been and was going on between the two of you, or at least the essentials of the situation.
Rather soon, however, the time to leave for class drew near and you all had to get ready to leave. Standing up from your seat, you soon felt a hand wrapping around your own. Knowing whose it was without even having to look, you nervously intertwined your fingers with his in order to hold hands properly.
Already before even reaching the gate you knew the fangirls wouldn’t take this well, since they basically didn’t approve of anyone getting close to the night class guys. To make it all worse, Zero still wasn’t back. This meant that the only protection you all really had against the day class girls were Yuki, and you didn’t trust her farther than you could throw her.
As the gate opened, they were indeed squealing louder than usual, to your annoyance. As per usual, Hanabusa went out a bit ahead, pretty much flirting with every female in sight, earning huge responses from the entire group of fangirls. They never really ceased to amaze you with how pathetically desperate every single one of them could be. That included your former friends, as you were sure they were somewhere in the heap of people.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Zero appeared. It was quite a relief, honestly, as he was one of the few people who could at least make the girls behave to some extent. This immediately proven as all the girls immediately backed away glumly while mumbling about how they had certainly not been missing him.
Then, there was Yuki. She was stood in your way, meaning that the night class could not proceed to leave for class, while she yet again acted like what could only be described as an idiot. She stood there mumbling incomprehensible things, mostly only vowels for a great while. Once she felt satisfied with that, she just looked down, as if she was having her own interior monologue for what felt like forever until Zero finally decided to take action in evacuating the girls, much to their dismay.
This allowed all of you to continue towards the school building. As you continued walking, a small bickering soon broke out between Hanabusa and Ruka, concerning his method of “flirting” with the day class girls. Not really caring too much for what was said, you, as well as Takuma, Rima and Senri, just kept walking.
Then as if sensing your disinterest in all of the conversations going on around you, Rima and Senri snuck up on the two of you. “So... Would you guys like to tell us what happened after we left yesterday, or is that too private?” Senri said while wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. Even though nothing worth mentioning really happened, you could still feel your cheeks heating up at his bold assumptions. Takuma, on the other hand, seemed to be more on top of the situation than you were.
“Nothing, really. You two kind of interrupted the moment, so we just wound up reading” he explained, loudly enough so that anyone who might be listening in could hear him without difficulty. And, let’s be honest, most of the people around you probably were listening because of the lack in other interesting conversations. But, making sure that they didn’t get the wrong idea from the expression you wore earlier, you decided to nod once, as to confirm that Takuma had been telling the truth.
“So you’re saying that something might have happened if we hadn’t walked in on you guys making out?” Rima then asked monotonically, catching you off guard by how she said something so suggestive without even batting an eye. That, and the fact that she might be right. You can’t say for certain that nothing would have happened, and judging by Takuma’s flustered face, you’d say he felt the same way. “I’d say that’s a yes if I’ve ever seen one” Senri then commented, a smirk quickly forming on his lips. Rima soon followed suit as the same expression became plastered over her face.
You nervously looked up at Takuma, whose face was just as flushed as yours and felt how you were just getting more embarrassed by the second. Soon enough, he looked down at you, leading to instant eye contact. The fact that you were both aware that the other was thinking exactly the same thing only made the situation that much worse as the embarrassment you both felt grew.
Not much more was said after that, but it was enough to make the entire night’s classes after that awkward, considering the fact that you two sat next to each other.
Author's note! Guess who's back! Yes, I've actually started writing for real. It wasn't just a fluke, I'm actually going to start updating regularly again. Also, the story is finally getting somewhere, which has one positive aspect, as well as a negative one. The good thing is that we're finally getting some action between Reader-chan and Takuma. But, on the bad side that means we're getting closer to the end of this story. The main story will follow the actual anime, and then I plan maybe two chapters of "five years later", and then that's it. There are quite a few chapters left until then, but it's slowly approaching. Either way, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and that you're looking forward to the next one! //Yours truly, Handsomesquid :3
