Ashley went first, then I went about two minutes after her. When I arrived, Ashley folded her arms around me and started apologizing. "I just want to be friends." I told her as I leaned my head on her shoulder.
"We can be friends, if you do one thing for me." Ashley stared at her nails.
"Anything." I almost cried out in joy. Only one thing? This couldn't get better. Ashley pushed open a stall. In it was a noose tied to a pipe. I nearly fell over.
"You have to live for five minutes. That's it." I knew it was impossible. But if I was going to die, at least we were going to be friends to the end. Right? I nodded. Ashley turned a bucket upside down and motioned for me to step up. I got on the top of the bucket, and put my head through the noose. I started to cry.
"Ashley, please tell them I did it myself." She kicked the bucket out from under me. One second I was breathing easy, the next, not at all. I didn't let my feet touch the ground, five minutes and I'll be fine.
I'm not fine. I'm seeing spots. My heart is slowing. Ashley is laughing her head off. At this point, Kayly is here too. She wouldn't miss this. I feel it, the last heartbeat. I haven't spoken my last words. I scream at them with all the air I have left, if I'm dead, I want them to pay for it a little. I smile a little. Then I let myself go.
