After a long trip, conversations after conversations, the four finally arrived at the Kersia Mansion.
"Tadaa!" Rygus sang as he opened the doors. "This is my house."
The entire building was lined with gold and jewels. It had beautifully detailed carvings on the wall and a huge chandelier above its entrance. The stairway spiraled up to the second floor, and on the steps were red velvet carpets. Every thing was gracefully designed and it screamed elegance.
"Are we going to live here?" Xarius asked excitedly.
"Um... Hehe." Rygus let out a nervous laugh, " no. You guys will live in the guest house."
"What? Why?" Helle complained.
"To be honest, I'm only living in the guest house, too."
It was so silent that you can hear an ant stumping on the ground.
Rygus scratched his head, "My family didn't think that I would be able to maintain the house in good condition so I'm only allowed to live in the guest house, which is fine with me. The main house is too big for me to clean and find stuff. I have to walk half a mile just to go from the kitchen to the living room!"
Trying to calm the atmosphere, Zereth walked to Rygus and said, "Come on, then. Let's go to the guest house! Show us where it is, Rygus."
"O-okay." The awkwardness of this conversation pushed the other two along with them.
In front of the path they walk was a small wooden house, like one of a peasant.
"Here's the guest house!" Rygus said enthusiastically.
There are four rooms, one in front of the kitchen and three in the hall, side by side. The floor was laid with sturdy wood, which made it comfortable to walk on. The kitchen was ordinary, like any kitchen you would find in a peasant's house. Unlike the Kersia Mansion, which everything was lined with gemstones and gold, the house is quite dull but gave a warm feeling.
Rygus quickly introduced and informed us about our stay in the guest house.
"Us three guys will take the room in the hall and Helle will take the room in front of the kitchen. The restroom is at the end of the hall and the training room is underground. But I don't think that you would have time to train, considering you're only staying here for two days."
"Yay! I get the one near the kitchen! Don't expect any leftovers, Kersia!"
The sun was falling down as they settled in their own room. It was cozy, unlike anything Zereth has experienced. It has a small wooden bed filled with pillows and a closet. It's not much, but it definitely felt more comfortable than the temple. For once, he did not have to sleep on the hard, marble bed.
