Jake walked straight pass that girl, giving no attention at all.
It took him some time to find the right section that display all those variety of drinks. Jake bent down and took a bottle of Lemon-C juice—which has ben his favorite for long, and proceeded to the cashier.
The girl just now had gone.
Jake just did not care at all. It is none of his business. He would have said, ‘The one who is responsible for her losing the wallet is not me.’
Jake paid the money for his drink, and take back the change. The cashier then looked at his school uniform, and went ‘Oh’:
‘Wait boy, are you from the Middle School around the corner?’
Jake stopped his motion, and stared at the cashier with a suspicious eyesight, ‘Well, there is only one middle school “around the corner”, so I suppose I am from the one you suggested. Is there anything I may help you?’
‘Oh, I saw you wearing the uniform from the same school with a girl who came here just now. She dropped her wallet here, and another kind customer brought it to me just right after she had left.’
‘Oh I think I saw her when I entered. Sadly, she could not buy the items she wished to purchase.’ Jake answered politely.
‘I am wondering if you could give this wallet back to her if she is in the same school as yours?’
‘I don’t think she is in my class, or in the same grade with me. Although it is not my duty to give it back to her, but I am willing to give it to the school administrative office.’ Jake, again, answered in a tone as if he is a salesperson.
‘Oh thankkss a lot. Her student identity card is inside her wallet.’
‘Have a nice day.’
Jake left the store with his Lemon-C juice and headed towards the subway station, with the wallet in his hand. He put the wallet inside his left-side pocket, and walked away.
The subway ride was rather quick despite it is crowded. Together with the other typical commuters, Jake got off the train, exit the station, and headed back home. He even did not have time to enjoy the fresh air of autumn.
