"Alright, I understand."

He set down the black ink pen

And sat back in his chair,

Folding his hands together.

     "I just wanted to tell you that you're doing a really good job. The Head of The Blood Royal Family, Ambrose, contacted me. He's endorsing the school 106 Million Ens."

     "Congratulations," I replied.

     "Because of that, I'm going to allow you to implement any two things the student body wants. It could be the Garden that you really wanted at the beginning of the year, or the new volleyball team and one other thing." He continued.

     "Thank you very much, sir. I will hold a poll at the end of the week and send you the results Monday. Is there anything else you'd like to discuss?"

He let out a laugh, "You really are rushing things aren't you?"

     "Naturally. I do enjoy my second-period class." I said.

He raised his eyebrow, "I thought you hated it. It's one of your worst subjects."

A Nerve

And he noticed.

His face,

Brightened up

And he leaned forward,

Resting his elbows on the table.

     "Would you like to go out with me tonight and celebrate?"

He mumbled

Underneath his breath,

     "I'll treat you better than any of the boys in this school."

     I balled my fist,

     "If in you insist on talking, our negotiations will be over."

     "It was a joke!" He pushed out a laugh.

     "Haha. Are we finished?"

He let out a heavy sigh

And his head dropped a bit, "Indeed we are, Miss Slides."

He waved his hand, "Have a good day."

My body swung around

And I marched

Out of his office,

Feeling his

On my back.

I strolled passed

The secretary,

Threw the busy office

And out into the glass hallway

I'm glad that's over now.

Adults are disgusting.

                                     "But you know what else is disgusting?"

     "Ratana!" Garland hollered down the hall,

Scaring me.

His face was reddened,

And he was panting

As he stumbled

In front of me.

     "I've been...looking for you!"

He slouched over

And put his hands on his knees.

        "Whats wrong?" I asked.

        "It's Narcissa!" He inhaled.

        "What about her? Did she do something stupid again? If it's the goat..." I giggled.

      "No no." He shook his head

And stepped closer to me.

      "I'm sorry. I'm really really sorry!"

      "Garland whats wrong? Is she hurt?!"

My mind raced,

Thinking about all the possible

Dumb things

She could've done.

      His eyes watered, "She's dead."

                                                               "You."

My heart stopped.

          "What...?" I muttered.

          "The police just found her remains floating in the riverbank near the school." He explained.

         "No..." I shook my head, "You're lying! If this is a joke-"

        "It's not a joke. I'm so sorry Ratana! I know she was your best friend."

       "Oh god, it can’t be…"

Tears

Streamed down my cheeks

And my head

Began to spin.

I fell to my knees

And started to sob.

She cant be dead.

This has to be a joke!

She's so bright
