Words affect humans. Why, I remember how words affected me growing up. Children are more prone to this because it is the first time they hear and feel these words. For instance, have you ever heard someone told you that you are ugly? Weird? That nobody will ever want to be friends with you? How about your parents? Parental figures then? A teacher? An uncle maybe? Adults that are there with you growing up that have affected you greatly. And have they told you that maybe you are not man enough? You’re not acting like a girl maybe? Or perhaps you are a disappointment to them? You are dumb. You are not like your brother or your sister. I wish you were a girl or a boy.

And whether you like it or not, some of these words made who you are. Words are indeed powerful. In some religions, history and even powerful literature; words changed people and nations. Sometimes, you don’t even know that it has affected you until it is too late.

Take time and list some words on a piece of paper and see if these words have made its way to affect you in this present day and age.
