Y/N POV :

i sat on the rock i met thomas i laid on the rock looking out across the horizon till “hey y/n” i hear tommy say behind me

“hey” i sigh a bit bored as there was little to do today

“i got something for you” he says happily

“what?” i ask sitting up more

“ah ah ah…eyes shut” he tells me so i giggle and shut my eyes sitting up fully and i feel his arms around my neck and hair till his arms and hand retract and he kisses my lips as he pulls away i open my eyes and he smiles at me so i look down and see a necklace of pearls with a large diamond

“its beautiful where did you get this?” i ask holding it in my hand carefully admiring its beauty

“i found it” he smirks

“where?” i ask

“a merman has his secrets my love” he says kissing me

“tommy tell me” i say hitting him

“okay.. i found it.. it was on a shipwreck ive never seen the shipwreck before i think its new nothing looks old or rotten on it, i found that and a few other things in there i thin kit was on its way to a wedding” he explains

“a wedding?” i ask

“yeah i think its a thing humans do like how we mate for life i think its like a before thing” he explains

“oh..humans are wired” i say

“yeah but they make pretty things” he says

“beautiful things” i smile

“beautiful things for my beautiful maiden” he says kissing me

“but why where you off looking around shipwrecks for?” i ask

“i…was…looking” he says nervously

“looking for what?” i ask

“you promise you wont hurt me when i tell you” he asks me a bit scared

“i promise” i giggle

“okay” he says very scared “its getting close to the end of courting season and soon it will be time for our age to go off into the caves and…you know …and i thought i would find you something that came as close to how pretty i think you are and let you know how i feel about you” he explains

“aww tommy” i smile hugging him tightly

“so is that a-” he begins

“of course yes” i scream hugging him tighter “i love you” i say

“i - i love you too” he stutters happily hugging me tighter before i push him away and jump into the water and i know hes following me as we swim though little things about the ocean floor till we got back to my place…….

TIMESKIP :

i sat up on the usual rock with thomas laid beside me as we watched the water “mummy mummy!” i hear shouted from the water

“what is it sweetie?” i ask

“jake is splashing me” she yells

“then splash him back Beth” thomas answers

“tommy dont tell the kids to try and drown each other” i tell him

“love its low tide, how are a mermaid and a merman gonna drown in less than an inch of water, plus how do they drown they literally breath water” he explains

“i know just i dont want them miss behaving your there dad make them behave” i tell him

“urgh fine, jake stop splashing your sister, Bethany stop complaining” he says

“do you ever put effort into parenting?” i ask

“nope, i just have to sit, have sex with you, and occasionally take down a boat with my son, till the day some mad ass human decieds how nice my tail will look on his wall” he says

“TOMMY! dont say that around the kids” i say hitting him slightly

“which bit, the death or the sex?” he asks

“both” i tell him

“then what do you expect me to do with my time?” he asks me

“go get dinner while i watch the kids” i tell him

“i got dinner yesterday, you get dinner i will watch the kids” he says

“fine” i sigh kissing our children heads before diving into the water to look for dinner
