"Mom, I'm home," I shouted upon entering my home. The house was a creepy looking house with tall grass growing on the front lawn and backyard, the wallpaper was ripped, rooms fully furnished but untouched with dust everywhere. I was scared there might be animals or bugs roaming around that I slept the first night in a hotel. We did arrive early to clean the place out, but when the moon appeared in the tall window and an alarmingly nearby owl, I suggested probably the world's greatest idea--sleep in a motel. My mom insisted that we sleep in one of the rooms that we cleaned out earlier, but she looked around and it seems that she got what I'm trying to tell her. We did sleep, but not before my mom finish flirting with one of the staff. Seriously, my mom's married and she is still flirting. Though it did land us a free night and food. Gotta love my mom.
I stretched my limbs on the bed when I wasn't sleepy anymore. There was a sound like a crack, then a moan from me. I got a whiff of hot chocolate, which made my tummy growl. I heard a knock, "Honey, your food is ready! Get down here before my new lover boy eats it." My answer was just a groan, "Fine, fine! I'm up! I'm up!" I literally rolled out of the bed onto the floor, still with the covers, I proceed to turn myself into a burrito and possibly hid under the bed. But the chances that there is a spider or some kind of bug disgusts me, so I stayed on the floor. I hear my mom shriek, but then it all stops. "Oh, it's just you. You almost made me pee my pants!" I lazily grinned at her, but she decided that it is a good thing to throw cold water at me, and so she drops not a cup, not a bucket, but a full basin of cold water! "Okay! I'm up! I'm up! Geez Mom, no need to do that," she sheepishly smiled.
After the short breakfast with the constant flirting of that staff boy, Mom was obviously irritated and I did tell her that everything will bite her in her butt. I got back to the old house with my mom still unpacking stuff from boxes. "Mom, where's my room," I shouted at the top of the stairs. "End of the hall on the left side!"
I answered back an okay and proceed to my new room.

The hall was dimly lit with the wallpaper peeling off and dust everywhere, it looked like I just jumped into a horror movie. I was getting chills. I don't know why, but I get this feeling of being watched. Cold like there is someone or something breathing down my neck, scared because of the dark and that I'm alone in this section of the house. Unfortunately for me my Mom wanted a big room, but the only other room that is as big as mine is all the way at the other side of the hall. I stopped in front of a dirty white wooden door. The was surprisingly smaller than the other doors that it made me cry from fear. This might be a little girl's room and that thought scared me a lot. Little girls or boys and horror movies aren't exactly the best combination. But I gathered my wits and pushed forward, I opened the door.
The room is painted white--dirty white from all the dust with, of course, the wallpaper peeling off. The bed was small with light pink comforters. Though stuff toys should comfort me, right now they scare me. They are old with age, dusty and with their beady eyes that stare back at me--I don't want to talk about it. Suddenly, I saw something shine in the corner of my eye. I followed it and it leads me to a chest. I'm scared of what may be inside. There could be spiders, bugs, dolls or anything scary! But I need to quench this curiosity of mine, it may lead to some adventure like in the movies. I stepped forward slowly like the world has low-gravity until I reached the chest. With trembling hands, I opened it. I closed my eyes and waited for impact, but there were none.
There were papers and notebooks, all old with age, and then just weird stuff. There's a fork, a rock, and handkerchief. I dived in and searched until I found a pretty antique ring. It has a big red gem on it with white little gems around it. I searched the inside for a name but only found MK in it. Perhaps an initial. I don't know if it is real, but there's a huge chance it is. When we first came to the house, the town was looking weirdly at us and will probably continue until we finally decide to get out. I heard someone say 'witch' and I guess they didn't like the last owners. The ring was pretty, the gem not too big nor small. I put in the ring and nothing happened. You know in the movies when people wear or have something antique or left behind, they get this amazing adventure that they will never forget. I feel sleep to which I guess was the outcome of sleeping late last night because I heard a lot of crawling at the motel. They have wifi though, so that's good.

I felt like floating in the air. I remember sleeping on the old bed, good thing my Mom cleaned this room earlier, but there is still dust in the air. I felt light hit me in the face so I opened my eyes. I was still in my room, but what surprises me is, the room looked nice and clean. There is no wallpaper peeling down, no dust in the air and everything looks like they have been moved recently. Is Mom playing a trick on me? I immediately got out of the bed and checked the whole room. Like I had thought, this room must've belonged to a little girl. When I was away from the bed, I got on my knees and looked under. Fortunately, there is no monster underneath my bed. The door was like it was being painted recently. I was about to open the door when someone beats me to it.
In front of me stood a girl about my age, she wore old clothing like it was the Victorian Era, has the bluest eyes that I've ever seen and blonde hair with big curls at the ends of her hair. She was pretty. "Hello," she spoke softly. It snapped me out of whatever I was in. "Where am I," I asked the soft-spoken girl in front of me. "Don't you know? You are in 1840." I was flabbergasted. I slowly step away from the girl, but fell onto the bed. She was in front of me, "We have been waiting for you."
"Waiting for me," I shakily asked. I was scared. Very scared. "Yes," she answered, then looked around as if there was someone watching us, "Perhaps you could help us. We have been trapped here for a bit longer time." I just stared at her. She sighed, "We won't harm you. We just want to rest forever." I don't want to anger the girl, so I nodded. For the first time since I saw her, she smiled. "I'm Lady Cynthia of the Byron House," she proudly announced and curtsied.
"How could I help you guys," I asked. "Well, you were led to us so must love the time we, the spirits, live in," we went out of the room and continued walking down the hall. I can't help but think if this is fate. I do love the Victorian Era or anything antique. It was just my style. I love how they dress and the chokers they wear. It was just my style. And I was deeply interested and curious in it. Sometimes I dreamt of living in the past. I gasped, this is the house from my dream 3 years ago! We stopped in front of a big wooden door and she pushed open the door, grinning. Inside was not two or three, but hundreds of probably dead people having fun.
