"I promise I won't kill him.... And I promise I won't go too far. Now, please, tell me what I need to know." Shadow said to him. His words snapped the teen out of his daze and galvanized him into speaking.
"it..it's my dad..," the teen began, hesitantly. "He... he first started beating me and my mom back when I was a kid. Back then is when he first lost his job and started to drink. He still hasn't got a job now and all he does is drink and watch T.V. or go to the bar and come home drunk. He's really violent when he's like that. He doesn't beat me anymore but I'm afraid that he'll go too far one day and kill her. Please, help him get better."
The teen blinked at Shadow in surprise. He didn't mean to talk to the monster, but he just did. It felt good to confess his burden to someone but to all of the things he could've told it to, a monster? And no less one that had been so intent on devouring him just moments earlier? And that part at the end where he asked it to help his dad instead of simply hurting him, where did that come from? He thought he hated his dad, but he had asked the creature for its help. The teen stared at Shadow in confusion, unable to make sense of what had just happened.
After learning what he needed to know, Shadow broke eye contact with the teen and left the boy to sort out his thoughts on his own. Shadow let his own eyes return to their normal white glow as he thought of what he was going to do next. He had already decided to take the boy home after he had drained him to the point where he would fall unconscious. Obviously, the teen's abusive father had to be dealt with but that could wait until he had brought the teen home. The other four drunk teenagers also had to be dealt with, but again, their individual punishments could wait as well.
He finally decided that he needed to get them to leave so he could escort his master and her friend to her friend's house. They would be safe there while he finished up his business with the five teens. But, before he could do any of that, he would need finish what he had started with the one in his hands. Shadow brought the teen closer, so he could whisper in his ear.
"I am going to finish what I am doing right now, and you will fall into a deep sleep. When you wake up, you will be in your bed at home and all of this will seem like a bad dream..." Shadow told him before tilting the boy's head back to the side so he could inspect the area where he had bit him.
The bite wound he had left behind had already healed and disappeared. This meant the life force his feeding poison had freed from the boy's cells and tissues had been reabsorbed or was in the process of being reabsorbed back to where it had come from. When the life force of one of his victims was reabsorbed, it would repair any injuries the person had acquired.
