Rays of light from the afternoon sun beamed down on us outside. It was a bit warm, but not hot. The weather was mellow and nice. Along with the sun, a few patches of clouds were here and there, but mainly the bright blue skies shore through. It was really, a beautiful day to be out of the house, even though we are going to a place to be inside.
The three of us walked together, side by side along the sidewalk and the street. The sidewalk was actually quite small, fitting two or sometimes only just one person. We were walking on an upward slope because the place we were heading to is located on the very tip-top of a big hill. The neighborhood we were in was also very quiet and peaceful. Trees were placed perfectly where a tree needed to be to fit the scenery. The streets, the sidewalk, the houses, and everything were just so small, it seemed, like a cute little neighborhood town.
Walking up the hill, we passed a number of dog walkers and their adorable doggerinos that we always see when going to that place. All the owners and their dogs know and recognize us. We would usually say our hellos, chat for a bit, and play with their dogs. There were all kinds of dogs we played with. And this is why we always end up standing out all day. We spend a good amount of time playing around outside before we even get to that place, where we relax till the evening.
After walking at an angle up for some time now, we reached the highest part of the hill, standing right in front of a building. Looking back from where we stood, two roads split off to the left and right, leading to the neighborhoods. This building oddly sat by itself on the top of the hill with no other buildings near it. But, honestly, it looked beautiful by itself, like a small, but homey home type of place, which was actually very impressive, knowing its architecture. What makes this place really unique is that as it sits on the top of the hill, the back quarter of the structure leans out over the side of a cliff facing and overlooking a vast, deep forest down below, on the opposite side of the neighborhoods.
It is a lovely looking building, the height of a normal one story structure. Its frame is pretty much a large square shaped building. We all looked up at the building. Before getting to the front door, a few stairs led up to a tiny porch covering and shading the front entrance. The front door is wooden and painted white with glass-designed patterns on it. Just the left of it is a small mailbox. To the right is a simple wooden bench. And just above, on the front of the building is its name, “The Timeless Café” in a thin, charming font.
We stepped onto the front porch area to make our way into the café.
