The tree monster initiates a charge attack toward Alinel and Wyle.

“WAAAAAAAH!” scared Wyle, “It’s coming this way!”

“No need to worry.” she persuaded idly.

Just a few steps closer before they get hit, in the blink of an eye, Alinel cosmically casts Starforge Arsenal, a different type of summon ability that calls out and manipulate various living weaponry forged from the essence of heavenly stars. Under her command, she calls out radiant spirit shields, floating around like they are being wielded by invisible ghosts. They gather around Alinel to form together into a shield wall, instantly block the giant tree monster’s charge attack at the moment it pounds against them. The tree monster then gets deflected and knocked back.

“Phew. That was close.” he sweat.

“Stay on guard. It’s not over yet.” Alinel warned calmly.

The tree monster gets up, but it gets angrier.

“I-It still wants to keep up.”

“Guess I’ll take care of it by myself.”

“But what about Veist?”

“Don’t worry about him. Just go find somewhere safe.”

“A-Alright. Good luck.”

As Wyle hides deeper into the forest, the tree monster attempts to perform waves of thorn-covered vine attacks sprouting from its body. But, instead of stepping back, Alinel magically dashes forward and evades the vine waves. Once she gets close to the tree monster, she again uses Starforge Arsenal to call out swords in a snap of her finger and pierce on its vulnerable parts of its body.

Even though her attacks able to stun the tree monster, they didn’t do much harm. With its powerful regeneration ability, its tree bark grows back and heals its wounds, becoming as healthy as before. At the time Alinel see that, she is now aware that it would be futile to keep attacking it.

“I see now. My attacks don’t seem to be working. I must find another way.” she figured.

After its full recovery, the tree monster begins to jump slam on Alinel. Knowing that it would be impossible to block it, Alinel quickly summons a sword and holds onto its hilt with one hand, giving command to pull her out from the tree monster’s jump attack. While she keeps her distance from the tree monster, Alinel figures different way to defeat the tree monster.

“I guess it's time to proceed to plan B.”

Alinel summons and commands spears to poke the tree monster’s face. She plans to provoke it until it badly wants to crush her with its sharp-teethed jaw. Once it starts chasing her, she spares one of her spear so that she can ride on it like a witch’s flying broomstick. She hovers away in high speed to an area where she will able to defeat the tree monster.

As she arrives to the area she was looking for, Alinel stops and wait for the ill-tempered tree monster to get closer to her.

“This might be the place. Now I just have to wait for the giant tree monster to come.”

Blinded by its fury, the tree monster accidentally steps on a device that is ignited beneath the ground. Shockingly, it’s in fact one of Wyle’s traps which had been set up yesterday, a napalm bomb explodes under one of the tree monster’s limb, effectively causing heavy burn damage on its lower body. The tree monster screeches in pain while it tries to pull out the fire scorching on its bark. Although it’s still able to regenerate, its healing process slows down than it used to be.

“Wyle’s fire trap seems to be working. Still, I need to do it few more times to negate its regeneration ability.” Alinel thought.

While she has the chance, Alinel summons various Starforge armaments and commands them to neglect the effect of its recovery as long as they can. However, the assault makes the tree monster more frustrated and starts to run again to pulverize her.

“It's getting mad again. I have to lure it to the next trap.”

While it is pursuing her like cat and mouse, Alinel is retreating, leading the tree monster to the next trap while she is evading and blocking the hellish rain of thorny vine attacks. Not so long later, another fire trap is activated underneath its limb, inflicting stronger fire damage on the tree monster’s inner tissue layer. With such pain, the tree monster takes a small pause to regenerate, but it won’t able to recover most of its wounds in time as Alinel’s armaments continue to disrupt its healing capability.

“It’s almost working. Just one more trap before I can finish it off in ease.”

As its rage rises to its limit, the tree monster unleashes its full power to hunt Alinel down. But she immediately mounts on a weapon and escort her away to the next trap.

“It’s time to move out.”

At the time she reaches to the location where the nearest fire trap is implanted, Alinel stands by, waiting for the tree monster to step on the trap.

“This is it. Once the fire trap is activated, it won’t able to regenerate anymore.”

Unfortunately, the tree monster can read the situation and won’t be fooled for the third time. Therefore, instead of running directly towards Alinel, the tree monster jumps, surging the ground area with vines to clear out the rests of the fire traps from midair. Alinel is able to avoid its vine attacks in time. She has summoned couple of shields, forming themselves together into a platform to help her float above the ground.

“Oh my.” Alinel was a bit surprised when it wiped out all the traps.

With no fire trap left, Alinel has no other choice but defeating the tree monster quickly while it still has its burnt effect caused. If it is worn off, its regeneration ability will greatly heal all its injuries in a flash and become unstoppable.
