Newbie was now lying in the coffin. The coffin was as uncomfortable as it looked like. It didn't have much space and the layer under him was solid metal. Conny looked at Newbie.
- Are you ready?
No! but he just nodded, he turns to Lilly that was standing beside Conny, she was smiling and Newbie tried to smile back.
Conny was about to close the coffin, and Newbie closed his eyes tightly, don't be scared, don't be scared... he repeated.
- Wait...
Conny stopped midway and looked at Lilly.
- What now?
- One last thing...
She said and shooed Conny away, he sighted and took a few steps back. Lilly leaned closer to Newbie.
- If it gets too unbearable, then hold on to this.
Newbie felt something on his hand, Lilly had given him something round. It was small and felt cold, it looked like a pearl and was shimmering.
- ......
- And remember, you will be fine.
Newbie had somehow calmed down as he held on to the gift Lilly had given him. Newbie looked at Lilly that looked so cheerful at him. There was so much he wanted to say to her, with his own voice, and to not be able to...it hurt, the unbearable kind of hurt that was so overwhelming.
- Are you done yet?
Conny asked, he was starting to lose patience.
- Yeah...
Lilly answered and looked pleased. Conny turned around and closed the coffin, he wanted to wish him good luck, but felt like he had lost to Lilly, she had given Newbie something he was incapable of.
It was dark inside the coffin, something Newbie would've guessed, well, anyone would've. He tried to calm down, he was getting nervous as the seconds went by. His heart was beating fast and loud. Suddenly a smoke was spreading inside the coffin, was it a fire!? He wanted to scream, but nothing came out. His body had lost its strength, it was unbearable. It was starting to get hot, I need to get out! Everything was burning and he was trapped in a coffin, this was his grave. His throat hurt, it felt like knives was cutting him from the inside when the smoke was filling his lungs.
The air that had been filled with the thick smoke made it difficult to breathe. He had lost, he was going to die... He began to lose consciousness, his heartbeat had slowed down to the lowest pulse.
Sorry Lilly, I wasn't strong enough, I failed. Where ever I will go now, I will always remember you... your kindness, your smile... I even got a gift. He had held on to it the whole time, but it was gone now. That's strange where did it go?
He smiled with the little energy he had left, didn't she tell me to hold on to it... I guess it's too late for that. He tried to remember it for a last time, and without realising it he was gone.
- He's gone now.
Lilly and Conny were sitting on the floor, her eyes were red. She had been listening to Newbies suffering and strugglings, as her tears was running down her cheeks.
- I can't hear him anymore...
- So... did he make it?
- I think so...
Awaken someones ability wasn't beautiful, it was painful, you had to go through hell and back to succeed. At this rate Newbie could already have died from the overwhelming stress he had to go thru.
- Well, if he made it, then that's really impressive, I underestimated him for thinking that the illusion would be too much for him... Let me tell you, I had snakes, poisonous snakes! all over me. They bit all over me, some even went into my mouth and....
- .....
Lilly had fallen asleep, her head slid down to Connys shoulder. She had overused her abilities and after knowing that Newbie had gone was it like she finally could calm down, there wasn't much she could do from here, only wait.
- Hehe, you always wished people good luck when they were going to awaken their abilities... but to go this far for someone, you really are fond of him... aren´t you?
