Talk about awkward. Most people are super excited for their first limo ride, right? I mean, it’s fancy, it’s expensive. And I’m stuck in it with Malin. He just oozes friendliness. We haven’t spoken in the half hour we’ve been sitting here. There was no reception, no point when it was just our families and super awkward anyway.
So far, the most we’ve done is awkwardly glance at each other. Well, I’ve glanced at him, I’m pretty sure that he’s just been staring at me.
Oh my god! These stupid gloves! I yank them off my hands and place them on the seat next to me. Next, I take off the awful veil, doing the same. I wanted to wash my face, the makeup was very annoying. However, that wasn’t an option. So, I went for digging out the thousands of bobby pins out of my hair. Okay, an exaggeration on the number, but it was a lot. I stuck them all in one of the cup holders.
I could feel Malin’s eyes on my as I shook my curls free. Well, as free as the layers of hairspray would allow.
“So…” I started awkwardly, not sure what to say. “Where, uh, where are we going, exactly?” I asked.
“Our honeymoon.” A man of little words, I see.
“Gee, thanks, Sherlock. Because I couldn’t have figured that out by myself. I meant the location.” Malin’s eyes narrowed, his eyes appearing colder than I’d ever seen them before. They made me want to shrink away from the man.
“My family’s cottage.” I decided not to ask how far away that is. Given how this conversation is going. I stared out the window of the limo as I ran my fingers through my hair.
“I need a shower…” I mumbled to myself, not even thinking about how I said it out loud. I swear, I could hear Malin smirking. “Shut up.” Now it was my turn to glare at the taller male.
“Feisty, I see.” He chuckled. He actually chuckled at me. Then he did something that totally threw me.
A hand reached out and brushed a lock of hair from my face and tucked it behind my ear. Of course, this caused me to freak out and pull away. My hand moved without thinking and connected with Malin’s face. Hard.
I gasped a quick “I’m sorry”, covering my mouth.
“That was far from necessary.” Once again, he was glaring at me. He was so going to kill me. And he still thought I was a girl. What was he going to do if he found out I was a girl?
“H-How long until we get there?” I asked, trying to change the subject.
“We’re here.” THANK GOD!! The limo stopped. The driver got out and opened the door. Malin got out and held out his hand to me. My heart skipped a beat. After slapping him, I couldn’t be rude. So, I took his hand and got out.
We walked inside and I looked around. The cottage was nice. Obviously someone put time into the décor. The driver brought in the suitcases before leaving.
“Let’s shower.” Malin said, seemingly out of nowhere.
“Wh-What? Like together?!” I asked, he couldn’t be serious!
“We are married, aren’t we?”
