If you're on the far right, you think that muslims are following a smart, well-though up plan to invade the west (like this is some aliens sci-fi movie!) and that all who don't know that are gullible pollyannas, collaborators to their own demise.

Now if you are on the left, you think that nazis are taking over the western world, you compare the current times with 1930s Germany and that moderates (that is, everyone who doesn't think EXACTLY like you) are little Chamberlains in Munich.

Yet some others have a close look at those blogs and media in general. The very same conglomerates often own news outlets both on the left and the right, all over the political spectrum and capitalize on your fears, whatever you happen to fear.

We all fall for it, and the smarter we think we are, the easier we are to manipulate. We share stories that "prove" us right, the ones that make us feel like brave little Sophie Scholls and Anne Franks against oppression, but all agression takes root into fear, justified or not. That radicalization those news have been telling us about is taking root...in those fear-mongering news themselves!
