Doni leaned further out his open window, feeling the light mist hit his red face. He took a deep calming breath, but it wasn’t enough to conceal his excitement. He lunged himself back into the dimly light room and collapsed on the giant pillow in the center.
“Hey, be quiet!” Mary hushed him. It was past their bedtime and Mary didn’t want to get caught out of her own room, after all.
“Ohh, but I’m just so excited!” Doni gushed, rubbing his hands together.
“Do you really think Garren is showing up sometime tonight? I wanna wait up and see if I see him coming” Mary walked carefully over to Doni, not trusting the cloth tied around her hooves to completely hide her footsteps from Mother.
‘But if this is Doni’s last night here, it’s worth the extra chores!’ Mary thought to herself.
“He shouldn’t be coming, but Mother’s visions are never wrong...He and his new apprentice will show up at-” Mary was cut off.
“What do you mean, he shouldn’t be coming?” Doni interrupted.
