Who knows how long we have been playing this game. I am guessing we are going on the twenty hour mark. The people around me are so tired. We must do as the person behind the glass says. The last thing you want is to be eliminated.
I don't know how I got here. The last thing I remembered was being grabbed. I awoke in a strange room. There are three doors at the end. I can only hope its my exit to freedom.
Funny, this use to be my favorite game as a kid. Someone would yell green light and you would speed to the other side of the room. Red light would mean you had to freeze and not move. It's been red light for about a hour. My muscles are stiffening. It's maddening. I can only focus on my breathing and not let the fear over come me.
Dead bodies laid behind me. It was people who had moved accidentally during red light. Behind me I could hear someone gurgling on their own blood. I wanted him to die already. Please don't let me hear anymore.
"Green light," the calm voice on the intercom busted through the silence. The three of us left remaining burst towards the door. I had to reach it, it was the exit. The words red light quickly were spoken.
I stopped in my tracks with a jerk. The person in front of me could not stop in time. A burst of a gun shot rang through and blood splattered on my face.
I stood motionless as I watched him fall before me. He reached upwards grabbing my ankle. I held back the tears. I must not move. He clawed at my leg, suffering, begging for my help for what seemed like hours.
There were only two of us left. Over the intercom the words were spoken. Only one of us can get out safely. There can not be two. If two of us reach the door both of us will be killed.
The man and I gave a glance at each other. Besides the darting of our eyes we were still as statues. I have to beat him.
While lost in my thought the words green light were spoken again. I ran. I ran fast and hard ignoring the pains in my chest. I had to beat him. I felt him grab onto my shirt as the words red light were shouted.
I could not stop my fall. I heard the gun shot rang out. Pain in my chest, then blood. I had lost.
