Zared was stood face to face with his childhood bully: Callum Stone. Callum was a small, plump boy, with fists the size of lunchboxes. He could easily beat Zared in a fight with just one of his fat fists.
"You've been messin' with me ain't ye Zared?"
"No, I haven't, I swear, I haven't!"
"Yeah you have"
Callum raised his fist and was now approaching Zared. Zared lifted his hands, palms faced towards Callum.
"I haven't been messing with you, Callum"
"Yeah, you have, you been tryin' to get a few shots at me when the teachers ain't lookin', ain'tcha"
Zared began to step backward as Callum edged closer.
"Trust me I haven't been messing with you, I promise"
Callum was now towering over Zared, looking him in the eye. His eyes were a dark shade of blue, and his face was red with anger. Why he was angry, not even his friends knew. Zared had never actually spoken to Callum, even though they had known each other for seven years. Those seven years were torture for Zared, he was constantly being bullied by Callum, but this all changed today.
"Don't chat shit to me, Zared, you know that you've been messin' with me"
"Shut you're mouth Callum, you're the one who's always chatting shit to me. Even your own friends know it."
Callum threw a punch at Zared. Zared dodged it, but another one came flying at him. Zared tried to move out of the way, but he couldn't. It was too late. He was about to get hit. Callum stopped. Zared stopped. Callum began to fall backward, his eyes closing. His mouth was fully opened as he fell to the ground. This was when Zared caught a glimpse of something in his eye. It was his shadow. And it was moving all by itself.
Shadows are like puppets. It moves, just how you move, but Zared's was different. His moved alone. Not only did it move alone, but it also had the power to attack someone physically.
