“It’s okay, I'll come to you.” She stepped forward towards him. Suddenly one of Flowey’s thorned roots came from underground and impaled Toriel. “Y-you really hate me that much?” Toriel said, then instantly dissolved into dust.

“TORIEL!” I yelled, tears streaming down my face.

“tori…” Sans collapsed onto his knees.

Flowey turned around to face Chara. “Are you proud of me Chara?”

“Yes. Now help me out of here.” Chara said. “While Sans and Frisk are distracted.”

“Anything for you Chara!” Flowey shot friendliness pellets at the blue cage, making the bones disappear.

“Stop!” I shouted. “You’re not taking anything else from me.”

“I’ll protect you from them Chara!” Flowey got some friendliness pellets ready.

“Sans!” I shouted. “Gonna need your help over here!”

Sans, still kneeling, quickly uprooted Flowey and brought him close. Sans’s eyes were dark. “i don't care what you have to say, but one thing that i do know is that you are going to have a bad time.”

“Get away from me you smiley trash bag!” Flowey hissed. “Chara! Help me!”

“I don't need to. You set me free and now I don't need you anymore. Bye.” Sarah’s eyes returned to normal, and she collapsed on the ground in a heap.

“Sarah!” I yelled, running to her side. “Are you okay?”

“What happened?” She said, looking around the room. “Where’s Toriel?”

Flowey looked at Sarah in disbelief. “But… Chara was supposed to be my friend…”

“Why would Chara be here?” Sarah asked, confused. “Sans, what's going on? And where’s Toriel?”

Sans looked over at Sarah with his eyes still black. “well, you were possessed, and… and now tori's gone.”

“Gone?” Sarah said. “Where did she go?” She asked, not understanding what Sans meant.

“she's dead…” Sans looked back down at Toriel’s clothes on the ground. “all because of you.”

“Sans, no!” I yelled. “It wasn't her fault!”

The flame in Sans’s eye ignited into a blue flame. “you killed her…”

“NO!” I screamed, crying now. “It wasn't her, it was Chara, Chara killed Toriel, not Sarah!”

Flowey, seeing his time to escape, quickly disappeared into the ground while Sans was distracted.”

“just shut up!” Sans then inadvertently sent bone attacks towards Frisk.

“Waaahhhh!” I said, jumping to the side. “Sans, STOP!”

Sans quickly realized what he was doing and quickly rushed to Frisk’s side. “woah, kid! are you okay?! i… i don’t know what came over me.”

Sarah stood, shaking violently in the corner. I looked at her, then back at Sans. “What you did wasn't okay.” I said. “But I forgive you. You were angry, and had every right to be upset. Just don't let your anger get the best of you.”

Sans then started laughing. “hahaha! like you know how it feels to have your own brother killed over and over again, then just to have it be reset like nothing ever happened. to be forced to smile and live through the pain. do you really know what that feels like?”
