I was walking the streets of my city, Haelsburg, when something strange happened. I blinked and something wasn't the same. I couldn't tell what, but I knew that something was up. I just knew it. I walked home and opened the door. I still live with my mother, even though I'm twenty-five. When I opened the door my mother looked at me and screamed, like a thief had entered her home.
"Mom, it's just me." I said as I put my keys on the kitchen table like always.
"Who are you?" my mother asked, "Why did you call me Mom? I don't have any children, let alone on your age. Get out of my house or I'm calling the cops." I frowned and stared at her for a few minutes.
"But it's me." I said, "It's Dee, your daughter. You had me when you were sixteen. I know I was a accident, but that doesn't mean you have to treat me like I don't exist."
"I'm going to call them." my mother said as she picked up her phone. I sighed and picked up my keys.
"Okay." I said, "Fine. I'll find a friend's house to sleep over." I left before she called them. I took my phone out of my pocket and called my friend Amelia Drisden.
"Who is this and why do you have my number?" I heard my friend say angrily into the other line.
"It's me, Dee Michelson." I said.
"I don't know a Dee." Amelia said, "Sorry." And she hung up. I called several other friends and got the same result. Something was up. This was wrong. I fell asleep on a park bench before I knew it.
