"What the hell, man?" Rob yells. The other guy turns around, and slams his fist into his face, and walks over to me. He bends down and offers me a hand up, which I just stare apprehensively at. "It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you." I just stare at him. "Fine. If you don't want my courtesy, I guess I'll just leave." "No! Wait! I'm- I'm sorry if I offended you. As you could probably see, that wasn't really my finest moment." He laughs, and I accept his hand up. He's tall, and pretty buff, with light brown hair and bright emerald eyes. Don't get me wrong, he's hot. But after that spectacle with Rob, I'm not sure I trust this guy. No matter how attractive he is. "Oh! I should probably introduce myself. I'm-" But before he has time to finish, Sam, Jordan, Xander, and Mark all come over to where we sit. "Heeeyy Alice!" Sam says. Her words are really slurred, and her lipstick is smudged. A considerable amount of it got on Mark, too. "Didn't catch you earlier. Make sure to actually come find me instead of -hic- going off to the bar and -hic- sitting on your phone all night and -hic-" she face plants onto the bar, and begins snoring softly. Mark picks her up princess style, and carries her into the next room. The guy I'm sitting with raises an eyebrow at me, but thankfully doesn't say anything. Jordan looks up from Xander, who was feeding him little bites of, well, something; off the end of his fork and practically yells, "Alice, darling! So great to see you again! We'd best be going soon, right?" Xander looks at him with a pouty face. "Oh, no, baby. Can't you just stay for a little longer?" Jordan barely has time to finish before Xander pulls him by the tie off to a different corner to resume their previous make out session. The guy looks at me with interest. For the first time, I've met a guy that doesn't see me as a friend, or a bed warmer, or a little sister. This guy actually seems sane. "Want to get out of here for a while? there's a nice place to sit and watch the stars up on the roof, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who knows about it." He notices my suspicious look and quickly adds, "I promise, nothing sexual involved at all." I laugh, which came out as more of a nervous giggle, and accept. It's only me and this guy I've never seen before on a rooftop at one o clock in the morning. What could go wrong? He leads me up to the roof, and we chat for a while. he's actually surprisingly good company. We stay up there for at least two more hours, until the sounds from downstairs fade, and I'm sure that everyone has either fallen asleep or gone home. At last, I turn to him and say, "So, this has been great and all, and I love talking to you, but what's your name? I can't exactly keep calling you you, or him, or the infamous 'that guy' anymore, can I?" He laughs, and replies, "Here, give me your phone. I'll put in my number." "Really? How do I know you won't just drop it off the roof?" He laughs. Because I'll be too busy texting you, you doofus." "Well, alright then. Clearly I've been outmatched." We exchange numbers, and after a lot of coaxing, I finally agree to let him take me home. The last thing I remember is getting in the car and telling him my address before knocking out. I wake up the next morning in my room with a sticky note attached to me forehead and five texts. I tap in on one of them. Looks like the guy from last night was decent enough to actually put his name in my phone. I smile and roll over. Cade, huh? What a nice name.....
