Symmetra quickly packed a small bag for a couple of days useage and headed out of the apartment. Sombra is usually very cautious but this was extreme, even for her. There had to be more to this than just getting money. A few reasons made Symmetra head out the door; partly because she could use the money and Sombra was a good friend. However, she was curious as well. They weren’t even meeting up in the States.
She hailed a cab after securing her home - who knows what or who they were going to take on. Talon could be one thing, but Symmetra doubted it would be the case - Sombra helps them out, but usually only for her own cause, even if it was as simple as money. She thought of Sombra’s mission in Russia with Reaper and Widowmaker*. Thinking of it, it could be Talon.
She boarded the plane heading for Norway. Sombra would be waiting in a mall there in 12 hours. Symmetra took out a small laptop from her bag and a bottle of water. She put the bag up in the overhead compartment and sat down. She knew the internet on the plane wouldn’t be secure and with all these people around her, her screen had to be clean. She just needed to have something to do - maybe reading some news which might give her a clue as to what was going on.
She started to search, and she was reading about some news about Talon. A small bearded guy sat down in the seat next to her. She didn’t even look, she had no interest in being social today. She wrote a quick email to Vishkar, telling them she had to go out of country for a few days, family emergency, but she would do what she could do from her laptop while away.
She was in her own thoughts when she suddenly was yanked out from them by the small guy beside her saying “it’s good to see you here, Symmetra”. She jumped. What the hell? She finally turned her head and looked properly at the guy. Torbjorn! She smiled and hugged him. She then caressed his beard. With them both being builders, there had always been something between them, something deeper than friendship, but undefined.
Symmetra knew by now that she wouldn’t be able to do anything on her laptop. Not only because she was happy to see Torbjorn, but she knew how much he loved to talk, so there was no way she could do anything on the laptop, unless he fell asleep. No matter, she would have time on the hotel in Norway.
Torbjorn told her he had been in Numbai for a weeks time. A friend had called him down to help out with something. Symmetra was curious, but she knew if she asked more details about what Torbjorn was talking about, he could then ask what she was doing at this time. She would had to tell him and she couldn’t risk it. Too many ears on the plane.
She took the chance to get updated on the other former Overwatch members and even if she didn’t want to know or ask about them, she knew she would get the info either way. Torbjorn told about Winston and Zenyatta being on the Moon and they watched the video of Winston’s jumpscare together and having a good laugh**.
He told her he had some inside info but they couldn’t talk on the plane about it - this suited Symmetra fine, she had to tell him about Sombra and the possible danger. Maybe he knew something about Talon that couldn’t be found online - she had lost most ties to Overwatch and since Overwatch is the main group to keep eyes on Talon, they were most likely to know what was going on.
In the next episode, Symmetra meets up with Sombra in Bergen. Torbjorn reveals trouble is brewing, question is if Overwatch is gonna need help from everyone.
