"Shit, shit, shit, shit and shit."
"I hear that if you say that enough times you will turn into a huge steaming pile of it."
Karma smiles slightly. "That would be unfortunate."
"And it would stink."
"Dun dun dun tch."
"How's Jacob?"
"Oh, he's great, really great." Karma looks up at his Dad. "What can I do to help him?"
"That's a big question, and you are going to have to draw on your years of friendship. What does Jacob enjoy doing?"
"He is basically your second son, you know."
"Strippers?"
"Dadddd-"
"Just trying to lighten the mood."
A real smile comes to Karma's face this time and is reflected on his dad's face. Both of them have the same strong bone structure that is only truly utilised when they smile.
"There we go," He says, "Just be there for him, take him to coffee, and make sure he isn't alone for a while."
"Of course."
"Are you feeling less like shit?"
"No, but I have a plan now."
"All right."
Karmas dad turns to leave but then looks back for a second.
"Good luck."
"Yeah."
The door closes after him.
