I suppose it is only fitting that I should endeavor to fill you in on the occurrences that led to such a statement back there, however as already mentioned I care not for the ways of the world, even chronological order has become a bore.
Isn't it much more exciting to wait, receiving new information in whatever form it takes until suddenly it all fits into place and you've nothing to do but stare on in amazement? Struggling to decipher how you overlooked something so blatantly obvious?
The point is stories that progress from start to finish without a touch of foreshadowing or depth have always seemed rather annoying to me. Speaking of foreshadowing I highly suggest you return to the first chapter and read it properly, that is the first bit of meaningless information that shan't be explained for an estimated 3 books, even then I'm not really sure how long this whole ordeal will rattle on for.
It is all quite simple in my head, but the moment I start the telling I'm sure to elaborate where unnecessary whilst when necessary offer little to no explanation. How else am I to ensure my readers attention, or rather lack thereof?
Confused?
I've only just begun
~~~~~~~~~~~
My name is Nerys and once upon a time I lived in a dreadful country called Naleri [n-A-l-E-rhi]. I still live there today, however the smell has improved drastically since I infiltrated the underground thieving ring who used to pull the strings behind the cities major politicians. Needless to say they've stopped dumping the bodies and have adapted a more effective means of disposal.
I am what you might call the cities information broker, I'll tell you everything you need to know for free, however if you want to understand what I'm saying I'm afraid I'll have to charge a hefty translation fee.
The state of Naleri was once magnificent, thieves were unheard of and even the poorest citizen received a meal each night. Too bad kindness is no match for the unrelenting brutality of diseases which may or may not have been initiated by the neighboring country Edeathiel, who I might mention have been at war with us for centuries upon centuries, all the way back to when I was still a girl.
Too soon?
