Today started like any other. I struggled out of bed, made some toast, got dressed and packed my bag for school. After finishing my toast, I called out to my little sister, Winifred,
'Oi, Winni! Let's hit the road!'
'Coming!' She yelled back. For two sisters, we look nothing alike. She has Mum's long brown hair and Dad's hazel eyes whilst I have Dad's dirty blonde hair (which I grew out after my tomboy phase) and blue-green-grey eyes which I have no idea how I got. Winni and I began the quest to school.
At school, she went to the primary school next door and I went to my locker in the high school.
'Rah!' My close friend, Rosaline, yelled, tickling me.
'Fuck!' I hissed, jumping. Rose then began cackling. 'Ha ha ha. Very funny, Rosie.'
'Aw, c'mon! You know that was good.' She said, punching my arm.
'Yes, I guess so.' I replied, grabbing my laptop and books for my next two periods of History and English and we began to walk up to the library. We sat down with our friends, Cecilia, Matice, Charlie, Shalynne, Neve, Gabriella, Georgia and Eliza.
'Sup, Gabz.' I said, sitting beside Gabriella.
'Hi Silvia.' The next twenty minutes consisted of me reading fanfiction and listening to Fall Out Boy.
RING!!!
I packed up my stuff and went to Pastoral. Ms Oldfeller read out the daily notices and called the roll
'Hmm, Dodie is late again.' I said to Shalynne.
'Yeah, you're right' She replied whilst still reading her novel. Another twenty minutes past before the bell rang for period 1.
I was bored to death until Mr Anderson came in. Ms Kaite was boring the hell out of me. A familiar girl with long, brown hair and green eyes entered the room behind him. Most of the idiots in my class laughed at Mr Anderson whilst I inquisitively looked at my old friend.
'Ok Alyssia, please sit beside Eslie.' Ms Kaite said, gesturing to the seat across the aisle from my group of three desks. She sat down and turned to me and waved.
The rest of the day was a confusing mess of trying to defeat my social awkwardness and talk to her...
'Hi, Silvia! Georgia told me to come to the club meeting!' She said, walking to me.
'Hey, Alyssia. Welcome back to hell!' She laughed. We talked all throughout the meeting about everything that has been happening. 'Ok Sil, You keep looking back at Spencer, what is going on?' She asked, poking my stomach.
'
'Oooooh!
'Oh, um everything is cool.' I replied, flustered. Alyssia smirked and I smacked her.
'Oh, okay. Rose told me what happened to your dad. If you need anything at all, you can confide in me.' He smiled and walked back to his friends.
'Ooooh!
'Dad slipped on an oil spill whilst riding his motorbike and almost died at home from a collapsed lung.' I replied.
'Oh ok. Anyway, he is so crushing on you!' She said, excitedly.
'How can you tell?' I asked, doing a 'German Shepherd head tilt'.
' "If a girl is in love, you can see it in her smile. If a boy is in love, you can see it in his eyes." In the eyes of your little geek was love!' She whisper-screamed. 'What? No! I mean hunger maybe but not love... Besides, who would love someone like me? A fat ugly geek!' I muttered, tears falling down my face. Spencer ran over, saying 'Oh god! Si, are you okay?' He said, sitting beside me. He wrapped his arms around me, comforting me. I tried to wipe the tears away, but they kept falling so all I could do was let them fall and hug him tighter. He loosened his grip on me and looked at my face.
'Are you okay, Si?' He asked, softly wiping my eyes. I giggled and nodded, rubbing my face.
'Good, because a pretty girl like you should never cry.' He said, rising from the chair and walking away. Alyssia looked at me with the biggest grin ever. 'Holy Hera!' She exclaimed 'I told you!'.
'Oi! Shush!' I hissed, blushing.
'Ooh! I ship it!' She yelled. Then the bell rang.
The next two periods disappeared like they were nothing. Once the final bell rang to go home, I left the classroom and escaped to my locker. I turned on my phone, seeing a message from Winifred:
Winni: I'm walking home w/ Harriet Withers today. See you at home!
I sighed and packed my school bag with my homework. I locked my locker and walked down to the car park.
'Si! Wait up!' I heard a familiar voice yell. I stopped and turned around, blushing immediately. Spencer ran over to me.
'Hey, Si. Can we walk home together? Lucius already left without me. Clearly, Winifred left without you.'
'Sure Spence!' I replied.
As we were walking, we were talking about random stuff until I brought up the club meeting.
'Say, Spence, did you mean what you said during Fandoms?' His face went bright red and he rubbed the back of his neck, replying
'Um, well, yes...' Wait? What on earth? Normally I'm the flustered one.
'Well... That's something I don't know how to reply to...' I muttered.
'Look, Silvia, I love you. I have ever since I met you. I wish to know if you would like to be my girlfriend...' He said, gently grabbing my hand. I blushed a deep shade of crimson.
'I-I'll think about it...' I replied, looking at my feet.
'Ok... Can I still walk you home?' he asked.
'Sure!' I said, smiling. He chuckled and blushed. We continued walking. Occasionally he would try to hold my hand. Me, being the awkward idiot I am, would pull my hand back. When we reached my house, I turned to him and said
'Look, Spence, I will give you my answer tomorrow. Okay?'
'Okay.' he replied.
'See
'Bye Si.' He said, waving goodbye. He began to walk away and I went inside. 'Dad! Winni! I'm home!' I called. As per usual, Winifred is at a friend's house and Dad is at work. I went to my room and got changed. I opened up my laptop and messaged Alyssia to come to my house ASAP.
I heard a knock on my front door. I ran down and let Alyssia inside.
'So what happened?'
'Well...' I told her everything that happened on the walk home from school.
'Damn girl!' She said 'You are an idiot.'
'Hey, I don't want to rush into this.' I replied.
'Whatever. I'm gonna head. You know, school and all.' She said.
'Ok, see you tomorrow.'
'Bye'. She left. I went for a shower and then I crashed on my bed.
