He sits down on the grass underneath an old Aspen tree just outside of the old and crumbling school. There are very little remnants of that small smile that graced his lips only a few hours ago, now fading as he calms himself by drawing that young smile that influenced his own.
There was a faint gust and a thud as that fire headed boy, Aubrin, sat down under the old aspen next to him. "Hello!" He grinned cheerfully. "H-Hi" the boy looked over briefly then went back to his drawing. Aubrin looked over his shoulder out of curiosity "What're you drawing?" he asks, startling him, causing the boy to fling his drawing pad a few feet away from where they sat.
The boy raced to it but, Aubrin got there quicker. Picking it up he said, "You don't have to be afraid you know? I won't bite." He smirks and tilts his head like a puppy. He extended his hand with the drawing pad and the boy took it hesitantly.
"Y'know, you never told me your name." The boy feels a heat spread over his face and body from embarrassment. "O-Oh r-right... I'm so sorry, It's..." But he doesn't have time to answer; There's a huge van that races to the front of the school, hitting a few people.
"WHERE ARE THEY?!!" A terrifying man with a bald head and about six weapons attached to him files out of the van and quickly turns into an astute walk as he gets next to the front of the van and holds up the megaphone once again. "BOYS!" About ten men walk out of the van then straight into the school.
Aubrin grabs my hand and looks me dead in the eyes. "We need to run. Now." He harshly whispers, Then grabs my arm and my things as we run to the edge of the fence surrounding the forest behind the school.
