“Where are w- oh, Jesus Christ!” Halley attempted to ask as a car sped past the duo.
“How should I know?” Felix replied shakily. “You’re the one who… Oh…” He stopped, grimacing. “I- We should go…”
“Oh, I almost forgot! I’m an idiot.” She said, hurrying to help Felix stay upright.
“You really are.” He managed to say through the pain.
“Yeah, I get it. Let’s get you to… somewhere. Where should we go? Um, Felix?”
The boy had already passed out.
“God! Really? Now? Right when I need your advice? Fine. Be like that.” She complained. “I’ve been trying to avoid using my powers, and this sure as hell won’t help. At this rate, I’m basically forced to.”
With Halley being a Nephilim there came some perks, one of which was powers most angels didn’t ordinarily possess. For example, while Felix could only hide small things from humans exclusively, such as his wings, Halley could make herself appear as a completely different entity to whoever she wished. The key to that trick was awareness. If the person she was hiding her true self from knew that their sight was being manipulated, her spell would have no effect. She could also heal nearly any human injury or illness, but only if the victim gave their complete verbal consent.
