Wasted Potential: Chapter 2

Wasted Potential: Chapter 2

Nov 21, 2017

Now, most of you faithful readers who haven’t put this book down out of boredom are probably thinking ‘What? The dad? He hasn’t even been mentioned up until now.' Well, I know that if I don’t give you a decent background, you’ll be completely lost from here on out. So here it is.

Mr. Johanas Parks was pretty much the poster child of normality. He had a surprisingly well paying job at a candy cane factory. The factory had recently promoted him to the position of their mascot, The Candy Cane Man(™). He wore an obnoxious red suit with at least one candy cane in his pocket. During the day, he would act all bright and cheery, but the thing that no one, not even his wife and daughter, realized about him was that he was part of a secret society, similar to the Nazis: the PSF. Their plan was to exterminate all people who were not exactly average. This was based off of their fear that if you were too intelligent, you would figure too many things out, and if you were too unintelligent, you would slow down the “perfect society”. This would mean that Fall and Ash would both be killed because they were both WAY above average. Not like, genius above average, but just smart above average. In fact, burning Fall’s house down was an attempt at his murder.

Anyway, Mr. Parks was so obsessed with his job that he stayed “in character” all the time. So when the candy cane factory was closed because candy canes only sold around Christmas, he was upset beyond words. He became extremely distant from his family, and when he did, he would curse and rant on about how closing the factory was the worst mistake ever made. Eventually, Mr. Parks moved on and decided to spend the remainder of his days travelling the world with his wife, leaving Ash at home with a various assundry of nannies and sitters.

A few weeks later, a secret society called the Perfectio Sociotatis Fundamentum (Latin for ‘perfection of society foundation’) asked them to join them in their morbid manifesto. Johanas agreed, almost entirely oblivious to the grossness of the PSF’s plans. The PSF was able to manipulate his already weakened mind and send him on an awful killing spree, and Fall’s unsuspecting parents were the helpless victims.

Alright. You have your background, so back to the story.
